Chevy Silverado EV Work Truck Now Available For Retail Sales

The Chevy Silverado EV marks an important step for the Chevrolet brand, tackling the all-electric truck market with a combination of the traditional pickup capabilities, plus the benefits of zero-emissions driving. Previously limited to fleet and commercial buyers, the entry-level Chevy Silverado EV WT (Work Truck) is now available for retail customers, expanding its reach and appeal.

According to GM Authority sources, retail sales of the Silverado EV WT are now under way, despite tight production constraints for the entry-level model. While most of 2025 Chevy Silverado EV production so far has seemingly focused on the mid-tier LT trim, several hundred Silverado EV WT units are currently available on U.S. dealer lots.

The 2025 Silverado EV WT lineup starts with the 2WT Standard Range model, equipped with a 14-module battery pack and four-wheel drive. This configuration offers an estimated 170 miles of range per charge, as well as a starting price of $57,095 – roughly $10,000 less than the 2024 3WT model when configured with the 1FL Fleet Package.

For customers that need more range, the 5WT Extended Range model features a 20-module battery pack and four-wheel drive, starting at $69,495, with a range of 422 miles. Meanwhile, the top-tier 8WT Max Range model provides a 24-module battery pack with four-wheel drive, boasting the longest range in the lineup at 492 miles, and starting at $77,795.

The 2025 model year also brings additional options with the introduction of the LT trim level and non-First Edition RST variants. The LT trim starts with the Extended Range model, priced at $75,195, while the RST Extended Range model starts at $89,395. The LT is also offered with the LT Premium Package, while the RST is also available in a Max Range configuration. Check out our previous coverage for up-to-date pricing and range figures.

All Chevy Silverado EV model variants are underpinned by the GM BT1 platform and are built at GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan.

    1. Likely and Hopefully the higher number, as if you take 30% off the middle range battery of 20 modules to give you get the 14 module base so that off the middle range 422 miles is very close.

  2. Maybe three people in the world actually care about this truck. A regular cab short bed V8 truck would outsell it any day of the week but Mary won’t build it.

    1. Amen. GM needs to produce a regular cab short bed truck. None of the other manufacturers produce regular cab anymore.

  3. I believe GM was planning to sell 500,000 of these annually by now. They were planning 400,000 units rolling off the line at Orion and supplemental production at Hamtramck. Instead Orion is idled and few units are being built at the Poletown plant.

Let that sink in. This product appears to be a colossal miscalculation and nobody is willing to talk about it.

    2. And yet the people making that and numerous other bad strategic calls are still running the company which means gm’s BOD are just as clueless.

    3. Can’t have the lousy management label attached to Queen Mary for some reason…

  4. Why would I buy something that I can’t go no where because of range for that amount of money. If I want the range you have to pony up the money. Give me a ICE under the hood turning a generator which supplies power to the electric motors like a train and we will be good to go.
The bottom line is the price is to high and go can’t go far before sitting to charge them up. I hope it comes with a generator in the bed to charge because in a lot of places they still don’t charging station.

  5. I’m looking forward to the WT price hike to $100k. I’m sure The top brass is being told if they build it we will buy it no matter the cost!! NOT!

  6. The WT interior looks like a 3rd world effort from the 70’s. All for the price of a luxury truck. What a miscalculation! They need to ditch the ugly WT interior and use the one in the other trims.
