The GM Authority Take
GM’s best-selling Chevy Tahoe and Suburban duo remains king of the mainstream full-size SUV segment, as has been the case for years. This timer around its corporate cousin, the GMC Yukon and Yukon XL, followed in second place. Combining these top-selling utilities enabled GM to account for over 60 percent of all sales in this space.
Better yet, a refresh of The General’s offerings is set to launch later this year to take on new and updated models from competitors even further, further strengthening GM’s commanding position in this marketplace.
About Chevrolet Tahoe And Suburban
The 2024 Chevy Tahoe and Suburban arrive with just one change: the deletion of the Auburn Metallic color. Meanwhile, GM unveiled the refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe and refreshed 2025 Chevy Suburban with new styling inside and out, along with a revised diesel engine and an overhauled cockpit with a bigger infotainment screen.
The new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine delivers more power and torque than the outgoing 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel. Design changes to the 2025 model finally make that powerplant option available on the Z71 trim level for the first time, which is incidentally the most popular trim for the full-size SUV. In the video below, GM Authority Executive Editor, Alex Luft, shows off the exterior design of the 2025 Suburban Z71.
Other updates include new trailering assists and expanded availability of the vaunted GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driver assistance feature. The updated duo also gets nine additional wheel combinations, including 24-inch alloy options.
Production of the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban has begun, and both will go on sale later this year. In video below, Luft takes us through the updates to the interior.
