Displaying rugged, truck-inspired exterior styling and welcoming drivers with an overhauled interior, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe also sports a refreshed selection of technology and a new diesel powerplant. As might be expected, the palette of Chevy Tahoe colors has also gotten a shakeup with the mid-cycle refresh.
Specifically, two new Chevy Tahoe colors are on offer for the 2025 model year, including Cypress Gray (color code GBD) and Lakeshore Blue Metallic (color code GXP). Meanwhile, several paint colors were dropped from the lineup, giving the 2025 Tahoe a total of eight exterior colors compared to nine 2024 Chevy Tahoe colors:
The Chevy Tahoe colors that GM dropped from availability for 2025 include Empire Beige Metallic (color code GJW), Midnight Blue Metallic (GLU) and Silver Sage Metallic (G6N). Availability of the current paint colors varies across the model year’s six trim levels, which include the LS, LT, Z71, RST, Premier and High Country trims.
No more than six paint colors are offered for a given trim level, likely as a result of the GM’s “Winning with Simplicity” initiative. Three of the colors are extra-charge, including Cypress Gray, priced at $395, while Radiant Red Tintcoat (GNT) and Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W) cost $495 and $995 respectively. Changes to the available 2025 Chevy Tahoe colors are only one part of the far-ranging refresh. The changes begin under the body panels with rear-end suspension improvements. As GM Authority was the first to reveal, the Tahoe also gets its first 24-inch wheel options for 2025, with one set offered for the RST and another for the High Country.
Pricing for the Bow Tie brand SUV starts at $60,495 for the entry-level LS trim with RWD, while the 4WD configuration of the trim carries a starting MSRP of $63,495. At the upper end, the High Country costs $78,695 for the standard rear-wheel and $81,695 for the optional four-wheel drivetrain. The destination freight charge of $1,995 is included in these prices. The model’s official configurator is currently live.
A new powerplant joins the 2025 Tahoe’s lineup in the form of the turbocharged 3.0L I6 LZ0 diesel Duramax engine. Offered as an optional engine choice, the LZ0 develops 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque, with availability expected in March 2025. The other two powerplants offered include the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine developing 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine providing 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Availability of these engines across the SUV’s trim levels has been updated.
Among other changes, in February 2025, the Chevy Tahoe will start being shipped with the optional GM Super Cruise system semi-autonomous driver assist. The Tahoe RST Performance Edition package (RPO code WPK) will continue to be offered for the 2025 model year. The current Chevy Tahoe model year continues to ride on the GM T1 platform. Production of the model kicked off during October 2024 at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
