GM teased the all-new 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V earlier this week, providing the first official photos of the luxury maruqe’s new all-electric V-Series model. Naturally, Caddy is keeping its cards close to its chest, and has yet to officially disclose the Lyriq-V power and torque figures. Nevertheless, early comparisons offer some intriguing possibilities.
One of the most compelling comparisons is with the Chevy Blazer EV SS, which rides on the same platform as the Cadillac Lyriq-V (BEV3) and is likely to be the most closely related in terms of mechanical components. With that in mind, the Blazer packs a serious punch, with its dual-motor setup rated at an impressive 595 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque.
Indeed, it’s no stretch to think that the new Cadillac Lyriq-V power numbers could up there with the Chevy Blazer EV SS, or in fact even exceed them slightly with a rating of 600 horsepower. Either way, the Lyriq-V will undoubtedly produce more power than the top-rated, non-V-Series Lyriq, which is rated at a maximum of 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque when equipped with the AWD, two-motor powertrain option. For reference, the non-V-Series Lyriq AWD can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.6 seconds.
With 600 horsepower onboard, the Cadillac Lyriq-V will be a formidable contender in the performance EV space, especially for a luxury-laden crossover. This extra oomph will likely be complemented by some serious suspension upgrades, with the recent series of teaser photos seemingly revealing a considerable drop in right height. GM Authority previously previously speculated how the new Lyriq-V is likely to accomplish that lower ride height, so check out our previous coverage to learn more.
With all that said, what do you think, dear reader? Is 600 ponies about right for the Cadillac Lyriq-V power number? Let us know what you think by voting in the poll below, and remember to post your thoughts in comments as well!

And yet another anti-EV EV. Because of Elon with his Model S that started this whole hi-po EV idiocy.
They do what they gotta do to sell them.
I will never but an EV. We dont have enough electricity in the world, to ALL convert. I will help save the planet and burn some fossil fuel!!
The lack of electricity is a valid criticism, BUT most of the major tech companies are already building nuclear SMRs (small module reactors) to fuel their AI ambitions. This may be the energy source of the future, provided it doesn’t cause a disaster that requires significant detox.
Burning fuels for over 200 years is what made the environment hotter, feeding hurricanes. And you call that saving the planet! Tell THAT to people who lost lives and property due to hurricanes this year! Electricity is free from the Sun and wind.
Are you saying people who lost lives and property due to hurricanes 201 years ago and longer DIDN’T MATTER?
Still good to look at.
I have a Lyriq 2024 dual motors AWD and, an electronic performance mode.
It’s almost as much fun to drive as my 2022 C8 Stingray.
Go Cadillac!
There’s nothing “serious” about a super-expensive Power Wheels, yet how many times did the author use the word? Seriously?
I counted the word serious twice. How else would you call almost 600 horsepower?
I guess the M3, M4, M5, first two generations of Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette C8 Stingray and a bunch of other sports cars are not serious… right?
It’s not a serious 600 HP. It’s not SAE rated. The SAE rating system is very intense to guarantee you’ll make the advertised power. You’ll see lots of dynos where the car makes 10-15% more than rated at the wheels because SAE requires that number to be with the engine glowing hot and gulping hot air (like you would espect on track day) BEV’s currently skirt that metric, thus look good on paper, yet don’t hold a torch to even the Camaro on trap times. When they say 600HP EV, think 400HP equivalent gas engine, or C5 Corvette 😬
What sort of engineering prowess does it take to “turn up the wick” on a silly little electric motor v. the magnificent symphony of power that an ICE engine muscles out?
They could build a “600 hp” Bolt the same as this unintelligible Lyriq. That is NOT THE SAME as an M3, M4, M5, first two generations of Cadillac CTS-V, Corvette Stingray or a bunch of other sports cars. They are not comparable!
Based on the thumbs down votes on any comment that tells the facts and truth about EV’s and all their problems and drawbacks, it seems the active, well-paid EV and Lithium-mining Lobbyists are targeting this comment board and are out in force or registering with numerous fake I.D.’s like leftists always do in order to try and fool people.
Hard pass. Ultium junk.
But you lefties better buy it. Starving kids in africa need those cobalt mining jobs.
