Cadillac Eldorado IQ Rendered As Sleek Shooting Brake

The Cadillac Eldorado nameplate holds a special place in the hearts of many GM enthusiasts, often associated with the ultimate in American-bred style and luxury. While General Motors discontinued the Eldorado in 2002 for its 50th model year, the name still has a fair amount of cachet. Now, one automotive artist is reimagining the Cadillac Eldorado as a modern-day shooting brake inspired by the all-electric Cadillac Celestiq.

The front end of a modern Cadillac Eldorado rendering.

Recently posted to social media by Cole Attisha, the Celestiq-inspired details are more than obvious – the long roof, the low stance, and the wide dimensions are all present and accounted for. However, on top of all that, we find a more chiseled, aggressive, ICE-powered attitude. The front end, for example, incorporates a more traditional air intake, rather than the blocked-off, smoothed-out fascia seen on the Celestiq. The more-muscular front end also includes a prominent lower splitter element, while the (multi-colored) Cadillac crest is seen front and center.

Moving back, we see a set of large, multi-spoke wheels rolling in the corners, under which are mounted mammoth high-performance brakes. The side view shows off a fender vent topped by another Cadillac crest, while the rockers continue to performance theme with what appears to be carbon fiber. Also notable are the ultra-thin sideview mirrors, while the door handles are flush with body.

The renderings also show off the interior design, which incorporates a pair of digital readouts that are oriented towards the driver. Interestingly, the artist chose not to utilize the pillar-to-pillar digital readout seen in the Cadillac Celestiq and Cadillac Escalade IQ. The upholstery in the rendering is in “duo-tone” Nappa leather with Brandy inserts and Sage Green, while carbon trim and bronze accents finish it off.

Despite the IQ-inspired design underpinnings, this rendering is imagined with the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine under the hood, the same powerplant that motivates the Cadillac Escalade-V.

  3. The rear quarter window brings forward the traditional Eldorado style, but the rest seems too generic Cadillac IQ style. The shooting break roofline doesn’t work for me, either.
