Refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 Premium Luxury

The GM Authority Take

Cadillac CT5 sales have been down for the a full year now, but the model managed to move a spot to sixth place among 15 segment entries that include rivals from BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, and Lexus – all of which keep outselling the CT5 on a collective basis.

Sales of the CT5 may still be impacted by the ongoing launch of the refreshed model, as 2025 CT5 production was delayed till this past May, while refreshed 2025 CT5-V production was delayed until late July, with refreshed 2025 CT5-V Blackwing production pushed even later. Initial units of the CT5 Premium Luxury and Sport trims started arriving at dealers around early June, but the V-Series cars were held for quality at the Lansing Grand River plant.

Once the full lineup of the updated CT5 is fully launched, we believe that a sales upswing will be in the cards.

  1. When the CTS came out in 2008 it started at 38k and a V6. The CT5 cost 50k basically and it’s a 4cyl. The overall styling was way better in the CTS. The next gen raised prices further and sales started declining. I realize the CT4 is under 40k but it’s not a really good package.

Why are sedans and sports car sales dying? The prices are too damn high. Even a Camry loaded cost like 42k. If someone wants a sedan but they see a CUV cost about the same they are probably buying the better bang for the buck.
