General Motors gave the 2025 Buick Enclave a full redesign, entering its third generation. The all-new Enclave coincides with its updated GM stablemates – the Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia – which both entered their respective new generations for the 2024 model year. Now, GM is providing a hands-on look at the design of the 2025 Enclave thanks to the following video.
The video includes insights from several GM employees, including Buick Design Manager Kevin Nougarede, GM User Experience Designer Ki Hyun Ahn, GM Global Color and Trim Director Jennifer Widrick, and Product Strategy Specialist Matthew Musary.
The video begins with a look at the exterior of the 2025 Buick Enclave, which incorporates styling cues pulled from the Wildcat EV concept, including thin upper lighting signatures, a trapezoidal grille treatment, and sleek proportions. The upper lighting signatures draw the eye rearwards towards the belt line, which flows rearwards into the profile and emphasizes the wheels and stance of the vehicle. Widrick describes its aesthetic as “effortless beauty,” and Nougarede emphasizes the crossover’s “beautiful, welcoming lighting signature that gives a lot of presence to the vehicle.”
Moving inside, a large 30-inch display dominates the cabin. It stretches behind the steering wheel and into the center console to provide not only the driver readout but also the primary infotainment center. Not only that, but the display is customizable, giving users quick access to the apps and information that they prefer. Ki Hyun Ahn boasts the Enclave’s “holistic blending of the digital and physical experience together.”
Buick’s designers showcase the stylish and practical elements of this expansive, three-row interior, like the bold, high-contrast, Avenir-exclusive Cool Gray seats with Slate Blue interior accents (ELF) color scheme and the child-seat-friendly one-touch tipping and sliding second-row captain’s chairs.

Under the hood, all trims cradle the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine, providing 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. Standard cog swaps are offered by the GM eight-speed automatic transmission, with both FWD and AWD on the menu.
The 2025 Buick Enclave started reaching dealerships in July. Underpinned by the GM C1 platform, the GM Lansing Township plant in Michigan produces the third-gen crossover.

Those people are all crazy. It’s a boring CUV that looks like every other one out there. It’s nothing more than that. It has no Buick DNA and instead looks like a Toyota product and they produce reliably boring appliance-like vehicles so that’s no compliment. To have the designers try and describe it as bold is laughable. It’s also nice that they have a color specialist but why did they even need one when they’ll all be silver or white or something similar.
GM has such a rich history of truly outstanding designs that’ve stood the test of time and remain icons of style 40, 50, 60 or more years hence their creation. Sadly in my opinion, this bland Buick isn’t destined to join them.
To my eye, this is a beautiful vehicle, features galore, awesome modern lux interior, efficient yet powerful engine, quality built. It’s a great choice, just wish there was some more choice of interior/exterior colors. The inventory has ramped up quite a bit. A worthy competitor.
How about engine chooses for this 50k plus SUV, I could care less about the fluff!!
Totally agree, Roy, the engine makes all the difference! That stupid and pathetic four cylinder engine just doesn’t make the cut with this next generation Enclave model.
Why having no V-6 engine option was a big mistake for GM and will no doubt hurt sales. They know it but are stuck with their decision to have only one engine choice, the 2.5L turbo. People are already reporting issues with it, most notably that it’s rough and noisy. Who’d want to drive something like that in a 50k plus car?
“When they see the front, it will be undeniably an Enclave, undeniably a Buick.” But when you see the side, it’s undeniably a Chevy. Buick has had a unique and distinctive aesthetic for years, and now it’s gone.
No way am I paying that kind of money for a four cylinder engine in an SUV. I now have an Acadia with a 6. The front end of that thing looks like some cheap thing out of Korea. No thanks.
I agree 100%
Buick getting lower quality. No more 6. Light colored interior not leather. I hate black interior. Heard Buick makes a van GL8 but only sold overseas. Wish it was in US lineup. I liked my Buick Terraza van, but it got old. Of course was a 6 and cream leather seats.
This Buick is the last one made in the USA! An American nameplate older than all the GM Brands and the Enclave the last one produced and built in the USA. It seems roomy, not sure it will sell based on its overall looks. It definitely will not bring new buyers with a 4 cylinder engine regardless of the spin about how much horsepower there may be. The 3.6 liter 6 cylinder I have in my traverse doesn’t wind or scream or scream when i hit the gas on a hill or the highway. Anyone who has owned a 4 cylinder knows how they sound. So no thank you!
I think GM Shot themself with this 2025 4 banger roll out, only key turners will buy this Overrated Overpriced Enclave and I’m sure there will be engine issue as these racket makers pile on the mile!!
Very well stated! GM isn’t listening and probably not monitoring this forum and wouldn’t care anyway!! Mediocrity seems to be the new normal with them!!!
I’m finally getting used to its profile but it just doesn’t carry the same panache as before.
For months people have been voicing their displeasure with that stupid and pathetic four cycle engine that GM is putting in the Acadia, Traverse and Enclave models, which is the only engine being offered. All sorts of issues have been reported on this forum about how rough and noisy they are and even struggling to move these larger and heavier vehicles.
Why having no option for a V-6 in these 2025 models really baffles me, which only shows that GM really doesn’t care what you think or want. They’re cheap engines and not very well built, and for what these cars are costing these days you’d expect to have a better built engine in them. The engine certainly makes all the difference with having a better driving experience!
Just like today’s buildings, bridges, houses and other architecture this Enclave has lost all of its heritage and style and is just a cookie cutter design that gets the job done. The ultimate function over form of the modern era. Its really sad to see how far the automotive industry has fallen the past 5-8 years!
