The 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer, the chief Stellantis rival to the Cadillac Escalade, gets a considerable price cut for the next model year. Compared to 2024, the Grand Wagoneer’s base price is slashed by $7,000, while the long-wheelbase Grand Wagoneer L gets a $5,495 cut to its base price.
“Built to appeal to the heart of the full-size SUV market, the Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer lineups are now even better equipped and more competitively priced for the 2025 model year,” Jeep North America senior vice president Bob Broderdorf said. “By lowering MSRPs as much as $7,000 and enhancing standard equipment, such as adaptive cruise control on the Wagoneer and a front passenger interactive display on the Grand Wagoneer, these vehicles have become even more compelling.”
The standard-wheelbase Jeep Grand Wagoneer now has a starting price notably lower than that of the 2025 Cadillac Escalade in the base Luxury trim with the standard wheelbase. When factoring in standard 4WD in the Jeep, the base Grand Wagoneer is now $5,645 cheaper than its closest Cadillac counterpart. Meanwhile, the Series II Obsidian trim is priced closely to the Escalade’s Sport and Premium Luxury trims. As for the Grand Wagoneer Series III variants, they’re quite a bit cheaper than the Platinum trims of the Escalade when equipped with 4WD.

The long-wheelbase Cadillac Escalade ESV still has a lower base price than the Jeep Grand Wagoneer L for two reasons. One is the aforementioned standard 4WD on the Jeep; the Escalade is still available with 2WD. The other reason is that Series II Obsidian is the base trim of the Grand Wagoneer L; it doesn’t have an eponymous base trim like the standard wheelbase Grand Wagoneer.

Naturally, there is no version of the Jeep Grand Wagoneer priced like the Cadillac Escalade-V because nothing in the Jeep’s lineup comes close to matching the performance of the mighty supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4. Every Jeep Grand Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer L is powered by a turbocharged 3.0L I6 with superior power and torque ratings than those of the standard 6.2L V8 L87 in the Cadillac Escalade. For the 2025 model year, the Grand Wagoneer sees its output rise from 510 to 540 horsepower and from 500 to 521 pound-feet of torque.
The 2025 Jeep Grand Wagoneer will be in dealerships by the end of 2024.
Comments
Because the Wagoneer is not, and never was, a Cadillac competitor. The Wagoneer is a Chevy rival and the Grand, a GMC rival. Period. Oh, the Stellantis arrogance.
I agree, I can’t imagine anyone would consider a Wagoneer over an Escalade…unless maybe they were high. Trim and price wise the Wagoneer is in the same bracket as the Suburban, Yukon and Expedition, but with much lower build quality.
Wagoneer was never but Grand Wagoneer IS
Gorgeous, luxurious and powerful but significantly lacking in reliability compared to both Ford and GM products, which is nforgivable in this class
That Hurricane High Output is a monster, and just as we are seeing with the new 2025 Ram 1500 Rebel High Output (RHO) and with it’s 540hp motor, it’s just a few ticks off from the TRX in the quarter mile. C&D tested a 2023 Escalade V at 12.7 in quarter mile whereas they tested a 2023 Grand Wagoneer L with the 510hp I6 Hurricane at 13.5. Not too far behind!
