The Durant Guild, GM’s premium import platform in China, has announced that it will show the new 2025 GMC Yukon at the upcoming 2024 Guangzhou International Automobile Exhibition – better known as Auto Guangzhou o the Guangzhou Auto Show, taking place from November 15th-24th at the Guangzhou Fair Pazhou Complex. This is the second time that GM’s import division will showcase its products in Guangzhou following its debut at the event in 2023.

“The 2025 Yukon Denali exemplifies the pinnacle of design, executive space, and comprehensive capabilities, and will aim to deliver an executive-level premium experience and exceptional quality to discerning Chinese consumers,” said GM China in a statement. “The arrival of the Yukon signifies The Durant Guild’s accelerated implementation of its product strategy in the Chinese market, further catering to the local demand for high-quality and personalized lifestyles,” the company added.

The Durant Guild has also revealed that the 2025 GMC Yukon will be launched in the Chinese market in two high-end configurations – the flagship model corresponding to the Denali Ultimate trim level, along with the standard Denali trim as the “base” model. Both versions will arrive with a host of standard features with a premium sound system and rear entertainment, along with features exclusive to the Denali Ultimate.

In addition to its striking design and massive size, the 2025 GMC Yukon will stand out for its high levels of technology and class-leading cabin. GMC’s flagship SUV features a massive 16.8-inch vertical display running the latest version of the brand’s infotainment system, along with GM’s Super Cruise advanced driver-assistance system and luxurious interior finishes. In addition, the 2025 Yukon will have options exclusive to the Chinese market, such as the turbocharged 2.7L L3B engine, branded TurboMax.

The 2025 GMC Yukon will officially launch in China next week at the 2024 Auto Guangzhou, where full configuration and final equipment details for the Denali and Denali Ultimate will be announced for the local market. The 2025 Yukon continues the expansion of GM’s U.S.-made halo vehicle offering to the Asian country. The SUV will be imported from the GM Arlington plant in Texas.

  1. Importing Amercian iconic full size SUV to Chinese market is a short term bullish move for GM business in China, but long term still very bearish. The audience of these truck based SUV fan boy group is very skeptical of the “tiny” 4cy engine. They want big American V8 but cannot affort the high tax. Those who can afford the high tax already buying the Canadian spec ones imported by private sellers.

In short, audience is too small to make big profit margin. Within the next decade SAIC-GM will fall apart.
