Ford is introducing an array of updates to the 2025 Ford Expedition, featuring refreshed styling, advanced tech upgrades, and a redesigned interior. A key addition in the overhaul is a power sliding center console, a feature that brings Ford’s full-size SUV closer to the competitive functionality of GM’s full-size SUVs, including the likes of the Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon, and GMC Yukon XL. All four of these GM full-size SUVs have featured a power sliding console since 2021, so how does the console in the new 2025 Ford Expedition stack up?
First up, the GM power sliding center console offers drivers and passengers flexible storage and comfort by sliding forwards and back up to 10 inches, providing second-row passengers with access to integrated cupholders and HVAC controls when the console is shifted rearward. GM’s console also includes a discreet storage compartment for securing valuables, enhancing both function and security. Additionally, users can adjust the armrest independently, sliding it forward while the console is positioned back, ensuring comfort without sacrificing rear storage access.
Ford’s 2025 Expedition looks to rival GM’s lineup with its own power sliding center console. Similar to the GM design, the 2025 Ford Expedition brings cupholders and HVAC controls closer to second-row passengers when moved rearward. The Ford console slides almost eight inches.
The notable distinction, however, is that the Ford console offers more space directly underneath it, allowing for more ample storage than the GM console. And while Ford’s design does not offer an independently sliding armrest, the additional storage space may appeal to those who prioritize such things. This storage area is also secure, allowing users to store things like purses or other valuables.

…Chevy Suburban front styling, too.
GMC Ripoff as well….
But some people still like it in Qatar. Cannot blame them.
It is still a Ford!!!👎👎👎👎
In the video he mentions Ford has only been sitting and talking with owners for a few years (since 2020), they have been doing that ALOT longer, been going on for decades. They have done it themselves, they hire third parties to get their input in studies, not a new thing.
I will give them credit for introducing the IRS first before any of the others did….
Apples to Oranges…..Expedition isn’t even close to the same QC, Fit and Finish, Curb Appeal, and it is made by the company that has the most recalls in history of the automobile. Just wait for EcoBoost recall to hit the 25 Expedition.
