The latest mid-cycle refresh for the Chevy Tahoe and Chevy Suburban full-size SUVs includes a ton of updates and changes, not the least of which is revised exterior styling. While most of the exterior design updates can be found in the SUVs’ front fascia, there are a few changes in the rear as well, including new exhaust tips. In fact, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban both have a trim-specific exhaust tip setup.
The new trim-specific exhaust tip setup differs from the pre-refresh exhaust tip setup, with pre-refresh models incorporating an exhaust tip setup dependent on the trim level and the engine. By contrast, the exhaust tip setup for the refreshed 2025 model year is only specific to the trim level.
There are a total of four exhaust tip designs on offer for the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban – tucked-under tips, quad round tips, quad Chevy Performance round tips, and quad trapezoidal tips. The LS and LT trims are equipped with tucked-under tips, the Z71, RST, and Premier are equipped with quad round tips, the RST Performance Edition has its own unique quad tips, and finally, the range-topping High Country has quad trapezoidal tips.

By contrast, the 2021 through 2024 model years for both SUV nameplates are equipped with either tucked-under tips, or quad round tips. The tip design differs between the trim level and engine – for example, the pre-refresh Premier trim was equipped with tucked under tips when powered by the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel Duramax engine, and quad round tips when powered by either the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine or naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine.

In addition to a new exterior design, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban also feature a completely overhauled cabin headlined by a 17.7-inch diagonal infotainment screen and 11-inch diagonal digital driver information center. Both SUVs also offer the GM Super Cruise system, GM’s semi-autonomous driver assist technology.
In addition to offering the 5.3L V8 L84 and 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engines, both SUVs also offer the new-for-2025 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax, which replaces the LM2 Duramax offered prior to the refresh and is rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
