The 2025 Chevy Suburban debuts a mid-cycle refresh that delivers a wealth of enhancements, including changes to the exterior design, as well as the interior. We’ve already covered the exterior updates in an exclusive hands-on tour video, so check that out for more details. Now, GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft is diving into the cabin of the refreshed 2025 Chevy Suburban in a new video, giving viewers an in-depth breakdown of all the changes and tech on offer.
The model featured in this particular video is an example of the off-road-oriented Suburban Z71 and is equipped with the 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine. Prior to the 2025-model-year refresh, the Suburban Z71 and Tahoe Z71 did not offer diesel power. That said, the diesel powerplant precludes the possibility of Super Cruise, GM’s semi-autonomous driving system. That aside, the refreshed cabin seen here still delivers plenty of features to keep drivers engaged and comfortable on every drive.
The 2025 Suburban’s tech upgrades start with a substantial infotainment overhaul, headlined by an 11-inch driver information display and 17.7-inch infotainment touchscreen. This setup can also be found in the Silverado EV LT and above, as well as the Equinox EV and Blazer EV. Standout features include Google built-in, providing navigation and customizable shortcuts for quick access to essential functions. The horizontal layout also optimizes usability, with the high-resolution display ensuring a high degree of clarity and responsiveness.
The climate control now combines both digital and physical controls, with easy-to-grip rotary dials for temperature and tactile buttons for things like fan speed and defrost. Chevrolet has also reconfigured the center console, adding features like an inductive phone charger, USB ports, and a power center console for flexible storage. The new column shifter employs a simplified lever design, enhancing the driver’s experience with a quick, intuitive interface now seen across Chevy’s latest models.
The layout improvements extend to the dashboard, now redesigned to increase forward visibility and fostering a more open, spacious atmosphere. A new steering wheel design retains physical buttons for essential features, while the second and third-row seating largely carries over from previous models.
In addition to the LZ0 diesel powerplant, the 2025 Chevy Suburban also offers a pair of gasoline engines, namely the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine and the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine. Like the rest of GM’s full-size SUV lineup, the Suburban rides on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
