The 2025 Chevy Colorado debuts a number of important changes over the preceding 2024 model year, and that includes updates for the 2025 Chevy Colorado ZR2, as well. Among the changes is new upholstery for the cabin, with the 2025 Colorado ZR2 ditching the cloth and Evotex upholstery in favor of standard leather. The cloth and Evotex seats are no longer offered for the Colorado ZR2 following the launch of the 2025 model year.
For reference, the 2024 Colorado ZR2 was equipped as standard with a Jet Black / Artemis cloth / Evotex interior. Now, the 2025 Chevy Colorado ZR2 is equipped with a Jet Black / Artemis perforated leather interior as standard.
The Jet Black / Artemis perforated leather interior was previously offered as part of the ZR2 Convenience Package III (RPO code PDD). However, this package is no longer offered for the 2025 model year. To note, the ZR2 Convenience Package III also included a driver seatback pocket (RPO code E90), rear center armrest (RPO code DA5), ventilated front seats (RPO code KU9), and a heated steering wheel (RPO code KI3), among other items.
GM’s decision to equip the 2025 Colorado ZR2 with additional standard features may be part of the automaker’s Winning with Simplicity initiative, which aims to reduce costs through a more streamlined product approach. GM says that it will save an estimated $200 million in 2024 thanks to the new initiative.
Another notable updated for the 2025 model year is the deletion of the standard turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine from the Colorado powertrain lineup. The TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is now the exclusive powertrain on offer. Output from the L3B rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.
Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Colorado ZR2 starts at $51,195.
All 2025 Chevy Colorado variants ride on the updated 31XX-2 platform, while production will get under way early next month at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

I sure hope the hood was simply not closed and latched properly. Otherwise, the hood/body panel alignment is terrible.
Also, remember MY 2022, where when you bought a ZR2 it came with everything and the kitchen sink. Then remember MY 2023, where not only did the base price of the ZR2 increase but when you bought the ZR2 the interior was equipped as a WT unless you purchased almost $7000 of option packages to restore the interior to its former glory, except for the fact that even after doing this the power passenger seat, sunglass holder, and physical controls for the headlights/fog lights were nowhere to be found. And now enter MY 2025, where all the options are being returned to standard, forcing the $7000 of option packages onto every purchase, making every ZR2 purchased now $8000 more expensive than the MY 2022, with less features. Pricing gouging at its best.
Its not price gouging, material and labor cost have gone up. But making certain things in new truck standard will help with pricing some. The gouging is from the Federal Government. I don’t think people grasp how much companies pay to be regulated by the government. It needs to stop. Car manufacturers know how to build cars they don’t need government interference.
Transition from MY2022 to MY2023, attempting to keep an apples-to-apples comparison, was almost $7000 and the power passenger seat, sunglass holder, and physical controls for the headlights/fog lights were lost.
If not price gouging, what do you call this?
Fake News, “…Evotex upholstery in favor of standard leather…” Should say, “…ZR2 Goes PLeather Only.”
GMA makes a post about the ZR2 interior and only posts exterior photos… lol
Love, love, love my ZR2 and the Evotex seats are great. Not sure I would want leather…
I just purchased a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ZR2. First of all, why doesn’t an owners manual come with it as a matter of course. Second, why is it so difficult to obtain one. I paids a “gazillion $$” for this truck, and still don’t know all the systems and accessories. I WANT MY OWNERS MANUAL!!!
there was a time not only could you get a owners manual you could get a shop manual also. you might be able to get them now only on line.
GM,
PLEASE add power seat adjust to passenger seat like my ’19 ZR2 had… NO excuse that ’25 models do not have this option, esp if we are to believe this is an ‘upscale truck’ with leather only.
I have a 2023 colorado with 60000 and I have not been able to find several maintenence parts like break pads and roters anywhere at all and GM has discontinued the oem pads, what the hell my truck is siting in my driveway for 2 weeks now.
Have you even tried Rockauto.con or for that matter any part store? Because I found them right away.
