Two Police Chevy Tahoe SUVs Collide In High-Speed Chase: Video

A new viral video captures the moment two Chevy Tahoe police vehicles collide during a high-speed chase, resulting in one of the SUVs rolling. The police SUV that rolled apparently had a K9 unit inside. Luckily, the incident only resulted in minor injuries, although one of the troopers involved was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while the K9 was taken to a veterinarian clinic as a precaution.

The incident is captured in two separate videos, one of which shows the view captured from the dash cam of the Chevy Tahoe that caused the rollover, and another that shows the view from inside the SUV that ended up upside-down.

According to the video description, the incident occurred in Portage County, Ohio around 4 p.m. local time, at which time Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers located a white Volkswagen crossover with stolen license plates traveling on South Arlington Street. When troopers attempted a traffic stop, the driver fled, initiating the high-speed pursuit.

In the video, we see one of the pursuit Chevy SUVs locate the Volkswagen on a residential street, prompting the Volkswagen to pull into an adjacent parking lot. After the trooper pulls in front of the Volkswagen, the driver in the VW puts the crossover in reverse and attempts to flee, pulling out into traffic backwards before fleeing down the neighboring roads.

The trooper is seen weaving through traffic at high speed in pursuit the VW, maneuvering down the wrong lane before abruptly turning onto an onramp, nearly understeering off the road in the process.

The high-speed pursuit then continues onto the highway, with the VW looking for an opening through traffic while the trooper is close behind. Both vehicles continue to accelerate as the trooper relays information to dispatch and other law enforcement officers. We later see police deploy a spike strip, which fails to hit the tires.

Later, we see the Volkswagen dive for an offramp, a move that the pursuing officer attempts to mimic. However, as the VW then crosses the grassy shoulder to rejoin the highway, another pursuing officer fails to stop in time, colliding with the Chevy Tahoe in front, resulting in it rolling over:
