The all-new 2025 Chevy Equinox is the first model year for the new fourth generation of the compact crossover. Along with a thoroughly redesigned exterior and interior, the new generation brings new paint options. However, there’s one paint option that GM Authority has learned will soon go out of production.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox’s Iridescent Pearl Tricoat (G1W) color will be built out during the week of December 2nd, 2024. Chevy dealers can submit orders for the paint color through the week of October 21st, and then it’s done for the model year. It’s unclear whether this paint option will return for the 2026 model year.
So, if you really crave a new 2025 Chevy Equinox in this specific color, you need to act fast. It’s a $995 option on the Activ and RS trims. On the Equinox RS, the Iridescent Pearl Tricoat paint option is available with a stylish Mosaic Black Metallic (GB8) contrast roof at no extra cost. However, this color is not available on the base LT trim. Instead, the white paint option for the Equinox LT is Summit White (GAZ).
Check out our hands-on, walkaround tour of the exterior of the 2025 Chevy Equinox Activ. This one is finished in the stylish Cacti Green (GVR) paint with a Summit White contrast roof, a color scheme exclusive to the Activ trim.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox paint options list is expansive, with 21 different exterior paint combinations to choose from. These include several contrasting roof options, with many of the body colors available to pair with either a black or white roof. Also, the Equinox dropped two previously available paint options with the 2025 redesign: Harvest Bronze Metallic (GXN) and Riptide Blue Metallic (GJV). Check out GM Authority’s previous coverage for more information on all the exterior paint options on offer for the 2025 Chevy Equinox.
The 2025 Chevy Equinox is motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, while the GM D2 platform provides the underpinnings. Vehicle assembly takes place at the GM San Luis Potosà plant in Mexico.

Just wondering how many people are willing to drop a large on paint on a Equinox that gives you nothing in return on resale value.
So, after owning 4 PREMIER Equinox’s in Summit White, I am forced to buy an RS that has similar options. I want a white vehicle without paying the near thousand dollar extra cost for the paint. If the extra cost white paint isn’t available, then what are my options in the RS?
GM should get a designer’s award for the worst color choices in both interior and exterior offers.
I want a plain white SUV with tan or charcoal interior. That’s not difficult, is it?
Get the Equinox Activ! comes with Tan leather
Actually the Ford Escape has the worst color choice. It’s ridiculous and very gougy that automakers are charging for paint. GMC and Buick (don’t know or care about Cadillac) charge for every color other than basic white. Some charge for that too. Add in the absurd ever-increasing destination charge ripoffs and absurd price increases on the vehicles (even when sales are falling) and you have the definition of total arrogance.
Simplify means less choices. Way to go gm.
I only buy solid white and silver cars, but GM deleted silver across all offerings a couple of years ago and some models are not available in summit white, only glitter white… which I really dislike. I also only like a black or tan leather interior, but GM has moved to fake leather on all but their top trims. Plus, MPG is clearly going backwards with GM’s newest models, and there are no hybrid or PHEV offerings. As much as I like GM products, it seems GM is doing everything to steer me away. Pity. I’m looking to buy a new car in a few months, but I have no idea where to go.
The new Equinox is a nice enough vehicle but gM really needs to try harder. Good enough is not going to cut it with me. The fact you can order two different interior color choices, 4 different engine options, get better fuel economy for about the same price on an older Ford Escape is telling. Then there are the little annoyances. Despite being 2″ wider, heavier, more fuel thirsty etc you literally gain nothing inside as a result and in fact lose a slight amount of cargo space. Unless you pony up 2200 bucks you are punished and don’t get an overhead sunglasses holder on the LT and there is no power seat with the std cloth seats which forces you into gM’s vinyl or Syntex which I don’t want! Your interior color choices are all black, all black and all black on the LT with cloth. Even the pillars and headliner! The interior looks like black lung. With the previous Equinox you got a slight contrast on the seats, had grey on the pillars and headliner and could have the option of two tone grey/charcoal on the LT and charcoal or Maple Sugar on the Premier.
None of this is an issue on most competitors that also offer both a power and or hybrid/PHEV engine options for similar money and several competitors have larger cargo areas to boot. Exterior color choices are poor across the board and this is one small area where the Equinox shines by offering both a green and a decent shade of blue. I would like to see silver, light blue, brown and orange make a return.
