No. 47 NASCAR Chevy Wins Three-Wide Shootout At Talladega: Video

The last time Ricky Stenhouse Jr. visited Victory Lane was during the 2023 Daytona 500, but the superspeedway ace proved his prowess once again by winning a three-wide sprint to the finish line at Talladega on October 6th, 2024. His No. 47 NASCAR Chevy Camaro ZL1 won the race by mere inches, just 0.006 seconds ahead of the runner-up racer.

Stenhouse started near the back of the field and took the green flag in 32nd place. He spent the day battling to the front of the field in his NASCAR Chevy Camaro, ultimately leading 19 laps, including the final one. In fact, he had to defend his lead when a massive 27-car wreck unfolded and set the stage for a NASCAR Overtime finish, which swept up eight of the 12 Playoff eligible drivers with major championship implications.

Stenhouse, who missed this year’s Playoffs, lunged ahead at the line, fending off the No. 6 Ford Mustang Dark Horse of Brad Keselowski, who finished second, and the No. 24 NASCAR Chevy Camaro of William Byron in third.

“Man, this team has put a lot of hard work in and obviously we haven’t won since the Daytona 500 in ’23,” Ricky Stenhouse Jr. said. “It’s been an up and down season, a lot of hard work this season trying to find a little bit of speed but we knew this track is one of ours to come get it.”

Ricky Stenhouse Jr.’s victory marks the third time in five races that a non-Playoff driver has won. Byron is the only Playoff driver who has mathematically secured his spot in the Round of 8.
