The 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban debut a mid-cycle refresh complete with a huge number of updates and changes, from the styling, to the cabin, to the powertrain lineup. Indeed, interested customers are likely eager to dig into the options list to spec the full-size SUVs as they see fit. Luckily, they’ll soon have an opportunity to do exactly that.
According to our friends at Chevy Society, the official 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban configurator tools are currently set to launch at Chevrolet’s website during the first week of November, 2024. That said, sources also indicate that it’s also possible the configurator tools will be launched ahead of schedule, going live sometime between October 31st and November 1st.
Compared to the preceding 2024 model year, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban show off new, more truck-like styling around the front fascia, incorporating thin upper lighting signatures matched to C-shaped lighting elements around the low-mounted headlamps. The front intake is large and rectangular, while the stance is tall and tough. The rear end was updated as well, and shows off a set of reshaped taillight housings. Wheel sizing up to 24 inches in diameter is offered.
Inside, the two full-size SUVs are equipped as standard with a large 17.7-inch-diagonal infotainment screen, which is complemented by an 11-inch-diagonal digital driver information center. The center stack design was also revised. Available tech features include GM Super Cruise, the automaker’s semi-autonomous driver assist system, as well as new trailering tech.
As for the mechanical components, the 2025 Chevy Tahoe and 2025 Chevy Suburban offer three engine options, including naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine, rated at 355 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline, rated at 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, and finally, the new-for-2025 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine, rated at 305 horsepower and 495 pound-feet of torque.
The new 3.0L I6 LZ0 arrives as a replacement for the 3.0L I6 LM2 turbodiesel offered prior to the 2025-model-year refresh. Notably, 2025-model-year Z71 trims are available with the new LZ0 turbodiesel, whereas previously, the diesel engine was not offered on Z71 trims.
Both SUVs receive suspension improvements. Under the skin, the Tahoe and Suburban ride on the GM T1 platform, while production takes place at the GM Arlington plant in Texas.
