GM just teased the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V, a new high-performance variant of the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq. Set to hit showrooms with more aggressive styling and an athletic build, the Lyriq-V will up the ante for the battery-driven luxury crossover in a rather significant way. That said, GM has yet to announce the full spec list, but even so, there’s already a good deal of info that we know so far.
First and foremost, the new teaser images reveal that the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V will be available in an eye-catching matte finish. The overall aesthetic seems to be based around the Lyriq Sport trim and features black accents front to back, as well as V-Series-specific components like a new lower grille and lip, which are matched with a body-colored front bumper.
On the sides, the Lyriq-V presents body-color wheel arch moldings and distinctive lower-door styling, including a new rocker design. The rear doors show off a V-Series badge, while further styling touches include body-colored elements on the lower flanks and a fresh set of triple-spoke wheels in a black finish, plus a V-Series logo etched onto one of the wheel spokes. Red brake calipers emblazoned with the V-Series emblem add a final pop of color, although these components will also be available in a gray-black finish.
In the back, the Cadillac Lyriq-V features a V-series badge on the liftgate, a new rear bumper with a black lower lip, and a streamlined, body-colored design.
Inside the cabin, the Cadillac Lyriq-V will likely incorporate a unique V-Series-style steering wheel featuring a V button and logo, signaling the model’s special status. A new gauge cluster graphic and “V mode” will underline the Lyriq-V’s performance intentions. Meanwhile, the semi-autonomous GM Super Cruise driving assist technology will enable hands-free convenience on compatible highways.
Although GM has yet to announce performance specs, the 2026 Lyriq-V’s lower stance means it will likely feature upgraded suspension, possibly with the GM Magnetic Ride Control technology onboard, as compared to the Lyriq’s current “passive plus damper” system.
Power numbers also remain up in the air, although the dual-motor Cadillac Lyriq-V is expected to exceed the standard Lyriq AWD’s 515 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque, although the 102.5 kWh battery is expected to carry over. Additionally, the Lyriq-V may match the yet-to-launch Blazer EV SS, which boasts 595 horsepower and 645 pound-feet of torque.
Regardless, a full reveal is currently expected for some time early next year. Make sure to keep it locked on GM Authority for all the latest as we receive it.

What nice surprise.
It looks damn GOOD
First-ever All Electric V…!
can’t wait to see how much power they’ll show us
Is it me or does it look lowered with new side skirts ?
Seems to sit lower… which brings the question… is it lowered or is it the Adaptive Air Suspension?
“V” was for V-8 powered Cadillacs…and rationalized for V6 motors.
IMHO, the V doesn’t work for electric vehicles.
Since Cadillac is going all-electric, they should create a new performance brand / monicker based on electric propulsion separate from the original V.
Would be like Dodge offering a Hemi EV variant.
Actually, it meant V for victory. Not V8.
It doesn’t actually have an official name. It’s a callback to their history. Doesn’t help that some Cadillac execs called it Velocity when they first announced the CTS-V back in the day.
“The name recalls the Cadillac V from the division’s glory days in the ’50s and is now intended to imply velocity”
“The new V-Series logo both harkens back to Cadillac’s rich heritage as a pioneer in high-performance “V” engine technology and also conveys the dynamic posture that will characterize the V-Series models. The new V-shaped logo for V-Series models employs the same colors – black against gold, red, silver and blue, on a platinum background – as the Cadillac division’s redesigned “Wreath & Crest” logo.
“While its colors are meant to depict the ‘luxury’ side of Cadillac, its vertical orientation and its forward-leaning angle to the right are both meant to depict motion and performance,” said Kip Wasenko, design director, GM Performance Division, who oversaw the design of the V-Series logo. “This new V-Series logo draws on the proud technological heritage of Cadillac’s past emblems, but renders that heritage in a thoroughly modern and sophisticated way.”
The use of the “V” designation in Cadillac sales literature dates to the beginning of the brand. V-shaped emblems started to appear on radiator grilles, trunk lids and hub caps in the 1930s, and following World War II, Cadillac’s divisional emblem evolved into the well-known “V-and-crest” design which lasted, in one form or another, into the 1960s.”
