Launching the second model year of Big Red’s first all-electric pickup, the 2025Â GMC Sierra EV adds a new powertrain variant and other significant updates to the truck.
Included among these is a major expansion in the number of exterior paint colors on offer. Now, potential buyers can try out various builds for the 2025 GMC Sierra EV using the configurator at the GMC website.
So far, only the range-topping Denali trim level of the 2025 Sierra EV is live in the configurator. Prices are not directly comparable to the Denali Edition 1 trim offered as the sole choice for the 2024 model year, which started at $99,495, since the Edition 1 variant is not on offer for the 2025 model year.
Currently, buyers can choose between the Extended Range and the Max Range variants, the former offering 390 miles and the latter 460 miles on a single charge. Pricing is confirmed as starting at $91,995 for the Denali Extended Range and $100,495 for the Denali Max Range. These starting MSRPs include a $2,095 destination freight charge, $100 higher than the 2024 DFC.
The GM drive motors and GM batteries motivating the 2025 GMC Sierra EV develop 645 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque for the Denali Extended Range variant, which also offers 10,500 pounds towing capacity and 1,350 pounds of maximum payload. The Max Range is rated at 760 horsepower and 785 pound-feet of torque, with towing capacity of 10,000 pounds and 1,500 pounds maximum payload. The two battery capacities include a 20-module pack (RPO code ETI) and a 24-module battery pack (RPO code ETN).
Both current variants come in a Crew Cab / Short Bed configuration. The trucks are equipped with the GMC MultiPro MidGate, which can be opened to extend cargo space into the cab and carry narrow objects up to 11 feet long while retaining partial use of the back seating row. The Sierra EV is also outfitted with the Air Ride Adaptive Suspension, capable of raising or lowering the truck by approximately two inches.
The 2025 GMC Sierra EV already got five new paint colors, raising the total significantly from the single exterior color offered for the 2024 model year. The entry-level Elevation trim and the off-road focused AT4 trim will join the lineup and be added to the official configurator later in the model year.
The GM BT1 platform continues to underpin the electric truck in 2025. Production takes place at the GM Factory Zero plant in Michigan and is expected to also begin at the GM Lake Orion plant in Michigan at a later date.

Beautiful and capable truck but too big, too heavy (9,000+ pounds) and too expensive. A pity GM didn’t start their EV truck program with a midsize or smaller truck that would be at a price point more attainable by most Americans.
