2025 GMC Savana Offers New Rearview Camera Mirror

The 2025 GMC Savana isn’t famous for its modern tech features, but it has a new one this year. This commercial van is now available with a dealer-installed Rearview Camera Mirror (RPO 5BJ). The standard Rear Vision Camera (RPO UVC) works only when the vehicle is in reverse, but the new Rearview Camera Mirror option is able to show you a camera view of what’s behind you all the time.

Notably, it has a different RPO code than the other Rear Camera Mirror (RPO DRZ, pictured below) found in upscale and high-tech models. The one for the Savana is likely a simpler unit with a lower cost to produce. It’s a $675 option and available on all configurations and trim levels of the 2025 GMC Savana.

A camera mirror is highly beneficial for a commercial vehicle like the 2025 GMC Savana. Rear visibility is limited, especially in a cargo or cutaway van lacking windows. The Rearview Camera Mirror will add confidence to driving on busy city streets and the highway while also making parking easier.

Another notable change for the 2025 GMC Savana is the discontinuation of an audio system upgrade (RPO U0H). That means you can no longer get a new Savana with an MP3 player and USB port. That leaves the standard AM/FM stereo with an auxiliary jack and two front speakers (RPO U0F) as the only audio system option in the work van. However, a Bluetooth connection kit (RPO VUL) is available as a dealer-installed option.

The GMC Savana is offered in multiple unique configurations, namely the Savana Cargo, the Savana Passenger, and the Savana Cutaway, all designed to fill a specific role. Powerplant options include the naturally aspirated 4.3L V6 LV1 gasoline engine, rated at 276 horsepower and 298 pound-feet of torque, and the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque. Notably, the previous 2.8L I4 LWN turbodiesel Duramax engine was dropped for the 2023 model year.

The 2025 GMC Savana rides on the GMT 610 platform, shared with the Chevy Express, and it’s produced at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri. Notably, the Savana Cutaway is also produced by Navistar at a separate facility in Ohio.
