2025 GMC Canyon Elevation Gets More Standard Features

The third-generation GMC Canyon midsize pickup launched for the 2023 model year, with the latest 2025 GMC Canyon debuting several noteworthy updates and changes. Among these are new paint options, more active safety features, and a few revisions to the trim level lineup. Now, GM Authority is reporting that the 2025 GMC Canyon Elevation will be equipped with more standard features than the preceding 2024 GMC Canyon Elevation.

Some of the new standard features for the entry-level 2025 GMC Canyon Elevation were previously available via the Convenience Package (RPO code WCP) for the 2024 model year. In addition, the 2025 Canyon Elevation also now equips the ProGrade Trailering System as standard.

The new standard features for the 2025 GMC Canyon Elevation include (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):

  • Rear Sliding Window (A28)
  • Rear Window Defogger (C49)
  • Outside Heated Power Mirrors (DLF)
  • ProGrade Trailering System (ZL6)

For reference, the 2024 GMC Canyon previously offered the Convenience Package (RPO code WPC) for $1,715, bundling together the following features:

  • Driver and front passenger sliding visor with illuminated vanity mirrors (DEG)
  • Rear window electric defogger (C49)
  • LED front fog lamps (T40)
  • Dual zone automatic climate control (CJ2)
  • 120-volt power outlet rear of console (KI6)
  • 120-volt bed-mounted power outlet (KC9)
  • Remote Start (BTV)
  • Inside rear view auto-dimming mirror (DD8)
  • Rear sliding manual window (A28)
  • Manual tilt/telescoping steering column (N37)
  • Two USB charge only ports, rear of console (UBI)
  • Tailgate keyed cylinder lock (BDR)
  • MultiStow Tailgate (BPC)
  • Front interior courtesy light with dual reading light (C75)
  • Outside heated power mirrors (DLF)
  • EZ-Lift and Lower tailgate (PPA)

By comparison, the 2025-model-year Convenience Package no longer includes the Rear Sliding Window, Rear Window Defogger, or Outside Heated Power Mirrors, as all three are now included as standard on the 2025 GMC Canyon Elevation.

What’s more, the ProGrade Trailering System is now included as standard across the 2025 GMC Canyon lineup, whereas previously, it was an optional upgrade on Elevation ($990), AT4 ($665), and Denali ($665). The ProGrade Trailering system included:

  • In-vehicle Trailering App (U1D)
  • Trailering Package (Z82)
  • Auto-locking rear differential (G80, Elevation only)
  • Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering (UKW, Denali only)

To note, the AT4X is still unavailable with the ProGrade Trailering System, and as such, opting into the AT4X Package (RPO code XEW) deletes the ProGrade Trailering System content.

As covered previously, the AT4X is now offered as an optional package upgrade, rather than as a standalone trim level as was the case prior to the 2025 model year.

All 2025 GMC Canyon variants ride on the updated GM 31XX-2 platform, while the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine is standard across the lineup. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri, with the 2025 model year set to roll off the line in December, five weeks later than was originally planned.
