Following the removal of the High Country trim level from the Chevy Traverse lineup in conjunction with the launch of the all-new 2024 model year, Chevrolet is bringing the Traverse High Country back for 2025. Earlier this week, GM Authority revealed the first photos of the new 2025 Chevy Traverse High Country, showcasing the luxury trim’s exterior and interior features. Now, we’re back at it, this time highlighting yet another Traverse High Country interior colorway.
This time around, we’re checking out the Traverse High Country in the Jet Black with Bronze accents interior colorway (RPO code HQQ), which stands in clear contrast to the Jet Black with Sky Cool Gray interior colorway (RPO code HQM) that we featured earlier in the week. By comparison, the Jet Black with Bronze interior colorway shows off a much darker aesthetic, although with familiar texturing applied along broad swaths of material. We also spot bronze piping that rings each seat and complements the intricate patterns integrated into the upholstery.
The seats in this model are leather-appointed and perforated, a signature High Country detail also found in the Jet Black with Sky Cool Gray interior colorway that we featured earlier in the week. What’s more, the upper middle portions of each seat feature a contrasting checker pattern that adds an element of complexity to the design.

Traditionally, Chevrolet reserved bronze detailing for exterior elements of the High Country trim, such as in the grille. However, in this 2025 Traverse High Country, these bronze tones have made their way into the interior.
While the 2025 Chevy Traverse High Country maintains its sleek styling inside, it also omit a few familiar High Country exterior touches, such as the extensive chrome trim bits that characterize High Country trims for the Tahoe, Suburban, and Silverado.
As for what’s under the skin, the 2025 Chevy Traverse is motivated by the turbocharged 2.5L I4 LK0 gasoline engine as standard, with the GM C1 platform providing the bones. Vehicle assembly is completed at the GM Lansing Delta Township plant, located in Michigan.

If I squint really really hard, I can see the bronze in it. Do I win a third-place medal?
NO! You get nothing!
Good day, sir!
Part of the reason for wanting a higher trim was color matching and chrome. Leaving the black fender flares makes it look anything but like a high country, just a bronze trimmed RS. This black fad needs to die, what is the reason for making everything look like a base model or an off road trim? The Mazda CX-50 for example I was looking at recently, you can’t get the flares in anything but black and it looks very un-premium. Lexus has black trim in most their models but you can pay a little to get body color. Anything premium shouldn’t have black on it, period… What would set this Traverse out from the others is painted flares, painted mirror caps, chrome handles and accents and a aluminum or chrome wheel without black on it.
Bronze?? Looks more gray/silver to me, but I like it no matter what you call it.
Wheels are ugly and look cheap. Kind of like putting tennis shoes on while wearing a suit. And lastly, the four cylinder will never be the answer vs. the V-6 (IMO).
Everett, your opinion is very valid and accurate! Many others on this forum have expressed their dislike for that horrible four cylinder engine. Why having no V-6 engine option in a car this big really baffles me, and in my honest opinion will certainly affect sales. Listen GM, people still like and want V-6 engines! Please give us a better driving experience!!
Personally they need non plug in hybrid tech. It’d be great to get 38 mpg in a big 3 row while driving from SC to MI. And super cruise doesn’t just need to be on the highest trim levels it needs to be an option on mid trim as well.
Nice looking car and would love to have one if it wasn’t for that stupid and pathetic four cylinder engine! Truth be told, that 2.5L turbo just doesn’t make the cut with this larger and heavier vehicle. Many people are reporting that this engine really struggles to move this thing, being too rough and noisy. Would absolutely love it if GM would once again offer a V-6 engine option, thus bringing back a better driving experience, especially with what we are now having to pay for this car.
GM and Mary give us a noisy underpowered 4 cyl turbo when we want a V6
GM and Mary won’t give us the new revised Cadillac XT5 when we want it here in the USA
They don’t care what we want
Electrics shoved down our throats
Sales will be affected but they don’t care
Never has this been more apparent comparing my 2019 V6 Impala LT to a 2023 rental Malibu LT 1.5 that I drove for over a month while mine had body work performed. Sure the Malibu felt peppier than I expected considering its very low 160 HP output. Its mileage was also better than expected averaging 34 overall combined. The problem was noise, vibration and harshness. In really warm weather it was tolerable. On the colder mornings this engine is very noisy and agricultural sounding, sends vibration through the wheel and has an on/off feel sometimes giving more power than is needed and sometimes less. My Impala in comparison is almost silky smooth with linear power delivery, is much quieter and so much better behaved and civilized in daily operation. The one downside of course is great fuel consumption due to being heavier and having 305 ho vs 160. Still on a pure trip I have seen 32 or more so it is efficient out on the open road!
They have higher power and trq than the V6 though
Theres nothing High Country about. Just another SUV jellybean with cheap black plastic accents all over the place. Glad theres no High Country badging because this car doesnt deserve them. The 4 cylinder in this SUV at this “trim” level is a joke.
My Z71 ’24 looks better and wouldn’t need it any other way. Should say my wife’s. Not mine. I still drive the (Holden) SS.
Those seats are not good looking at all. Looks like something Ford designed for an old car.
From all the comments I’m reading on this thread, it’s seems pretty obvious that GM has lost its way and has no vision anymore on what it takes to build outstanding vehicles. They really need to find new leadership in that company.
Z71 is fine 13000 miles
Where are the body colored fenders
