2025 Chevy Silverado HD LT, LTZ Currently Unavailable With 2WD

The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD LT and LTZ trim levels are currently unavailable to order with rear-wheel drive. As such, customers can only order these two trims with four-wheel drive. It’s unclear at this time how long this constraint will remain in effect, or if the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD LT and LTZ trims will be available exclusively with rear-wheel drive for the remainder of the 2025 model year, or if this signals a change in the heavy-duty Chevy Silverado HD lineup with the forthcoming launch of the 2026 model year.

The 2025 Chevy Silverado HD LT and LTZ are currently unavailable to order with 2WD.

With the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD LT and LTZ no longer available to order with 2WD, the following vehicle configurations are currently unavailable:

  • Regular Cab Long Bed LT 2WD
  • Double Cab Standard Bed LT 2WD
  • Double Cab Long Bed LT 2WD
  • Crew Cab Standard Bed LT 2WD
  • Crew Cab Long Bed LT 2WD
  • Double Cab Standard Bed LTZ 2WD
  • Double Cab Long Bed LTZ 2WD
  • Crew Cab Standard Bed LTZ 2WD
  • Crew Cab Long Bed LTZ 2WD

Note that this constraint applies to Silverado 2500 HD and Silverado 3500 HD configurations.

Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Silverado HD starts at $47,295 for the entry-level WT trim in the Regular Cab / Long Bed body configuration. Meanwhile, the highest-priced model is the 2025 Silverado 3500 HD High Country, which starts at $87,585 in the Crew Cab / Long Bed body configuration with dual rear wheels, four-wheel drive, and the optional diesel engine. Note that all of the 2025 Silverado HD trims and configurations are more expensive than they were for the 2024 model year.

Powertrain options include the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, which is rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, as well as the optional 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax engine, which is rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. Both powerplants connect the Allison-branded GM 10-speed automatic transmission as standard.

Under the skin, the Silverado HD rides on a more-capable-variant of the GM T1 platform, while vehicle production takes place at the GM Flint plant in Michigan and GM Oshawa plant in Canada.
