The 2025 Chevy Equinox debuts an all-new fourth generation for the compact crossover nameplate, bringing with it a new exterior design, an overhauled cabin, and the new Activ trim level, among several other updates and changes. Now, GM Authority is taking a closer look with a detailed walkaround in the following hands-on video.
Hosted by GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft, the video is 15 minutes long, and goes in-depth in covering the new ‘Nox’s various exterior features.
This particular 2025 Chevy Equinox is an example of the sporty RS trim, and presents in Radiant Red Tintcoat paint (production code GNT).
Right off the bat, the 2025 Equinox shows off a new front-end highlighted by Chevy’s “high-brow” multi-tier lighting treatment. The design incorporates three levels of lighting: slim daytime running lights on top, primary headlamps in the sides of the fascia, and fog lamps located below the headlamps. The RS trim level also incorporates a sleek piano black finish for the grille, minimal chrome /silver accents, and a sportier overall appearance.
Beyond the front fascia, the new Equinox exhibits a more dynamic and athletic exterior, with sharp body lines and a sculpted hood that lend it a modernized aesthetic overall. The RS trim adds distinctive black accents, while this particular example also sports a two-tone black roof, further enhancing its performance-oriented attitude. Another notable feature include the shark-fin C-pillar, while the U-shaped wheel wells house a set of two-tone wheels.
At the rear, we find redesigned split tail lamps. Notably, all of the 2025 Chevy Equinox lighting is accomplished via LEDs, whether it’s the headlights, the taillights, or even the interior. The rear fascia features a subtle spoiler and a tucked-away exhaust system to create cleaner overall appearance. Notable exterior features include a Rear Camera Mirror and various parking assists.
As for the greasy bites, the 2025 Chevy Equinox is motivated by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine, while an updated variant of the GM D2 platform can be found under the body panels. Vehicle production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.
Comments
gm has a number of vehicles where the DRLs are also the turn signal – as with this new Nox, going from white LED light to amber when the signal is activated.
I would like to be able to switch from white DRL to amber. Seems like a very low cost way to let the customer make a significant change to the look of their vehicle.
Give us back the 2.0 motor with dual exhaust and a trailer hitch.
Nice look. Better than Terrain. I’ll give the 1st adopters a year or 2 to work out the glitches.
