Though it is only the second model year for the all-electric nameplate’s first generation, the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV introduces several major updates compared to the 2024 model. One of the smaller changes is an adjustment to the exterior paint palette that sees Habanero Orange introduced as an indirect replacement for the outgoing Red Hot (color code G7C).
This post puts the GM Authority spotlight on the new Habanero Orange color’s details.
Carrying the color code GAG and the touch-up paint number WA-221K for identification purposes, Habanero Orange is a cheerful, vivid paint that joins the eight colors offered on the 2025Â Chevy Equinox EV. Many of the colors are also available in combination with a White or Black roof option, increasing the number of choices offered to buyers.
The full list of 2025 Chevy Equinox EV colors is as follows:

Habanero Orange is available exclusively on the range-topping RS trim and is not offered on the LT trim level. It can be selected free of charge on the RS, or combined with a Black roof (41T) for an extra $495. Additionally, it can be ordered in conjunction with both of the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV interior colorways.
For reference purposes, the colorways for the cockpit of the 2025 Equinox EV include the following:
- Black
- Black with Blue accents
- Sky Cool Gray
- Black with Red accents
- Adrenaline Red
Among the changes to the Chevy Equinox EV for the 2025 model year GM reshuffled the trim level lineup, reducing the previous 1LT, 2LT, 3LT and 2RS to just the LT and RS trims. Pricing for the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV as revealed by GM Authority ranges from the most affordable starting MSRP of $34,995 for the LT trim to $44,795 for the RS trim. Included in the prices is a $1,395 destination freight charge.
The Equinox EV can be equipped with several different optional packages. Among these is the Convenience Package II (RPO code 6K5), offered for $11,400 when added to the LT and $3,095 combined with the RS. This package adds numerous conveniences including extra safety technology, heated and ventilated seats, rear cameras, Head Up Display (RPO code UV6), and more. This and other options can be checked out using the online configurator.
Front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants of the crossover are currently on offer. Output is increased for 2025, with the FWD setup developing 220 horsepower and 242 pound-feet of torque and the AWD variant rated at 300 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque.
Motivation is provided by GM battery technology and GM electric motors. The GM BEV3 platform provides structure under the sheet metal. Production takes place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

I like it. Usually I like the black roof + paint combo, but this one looks great in pure orange.
Cool color. They should offer it on the useful Equinox as well.
This is a tribute to Halloween!! Congrats to those at GM that has the worst color options of the entire industry.
In a couple of years, GM will sell only white, gray, or black with black interior.
Bought a metallic orange Bolt back in 2017, and I will say that its color makes it easy to find among the sea of colorless automobiles in the vast parking lots of Costco and Walmart.
Article doesn’t even state if this is a metallic or tint coat or if it’s an extra-cost color! Kind of important information.

Price is in fact in the article: “It can be selected free of charge on the RS, or combined with a Black roof (41T) for an extra $495.”
The name doesn’t contain “Metallic” or “Tintcoat,” therefore it is neither a metallic color nor a tintcoat color.
Hope that information helps. Thanks for reading!
Looks like an atrocious pumpkin. For $495 extra. Boo!
The $495 cost is for a black roof, there’s no additional charge for this color.
