General Motors overhauled the Chevy Colorado for the 2023 model year, launching an all-new third generation for the midsize pickup nameplate. The latest 2025 Chevy Colorado also debuts a variety of updates, including changes to the powertrain options, new styling options, and more standard features for several trim levels. To this latter point, the 2025 Chevy Colorado Z71 also includes more standard features than the preceding 2024 model year.
As it turns out, the 2025 Chevy Colorado Z71 is now equipped as standard with all of the same features previously offered by the 2024 Chevy Colorado via Convenience Package II (RPO code PCX, $1,625). These features include (relevant RPO codes listed in parentheses):
- Dual-zone automatic climate control (CJ2)
- Tilt and telescoping steering column (N37)
- EZ Lift and Lower Tailgate (PPA)
- 8-way power driver seat (A2X)
- Power driver seat lumbar support (AL9)
- Heated front seats (KA1)
- Remote start (BTV)
- Auto-dimming inside rearview mirror (DD8)
- StowFlex tailgate (BPC)
- Locking tailgate cylinder (BDR)
- Wireless phone charging (K7A)
Meanwhile, the Z71 Convenience Package III (RPO code PDC) previously offered for the 2024 model year now becomes the Z71 Convenience Package III (RPO code ZL4) for the 2025 model year. The Z71 Convenience Package III offered for the 2025 model year includes the following content:
- Driver Memory Settings (A45)
- Rear center armrest (DA5)
- Driver seatback pocket (E90)
- Heated steering wheel (KI3)
- Ventilated front seats (KU9)
- Perforated leather-appointed front seats (HUQ)
Some may be left wondering – what’s the difference between Z71 Convenience Package III offered for the 2024 model year and the Z71 Convenience Package III offered for the 2025 model year? With the launch of the 2025 model year, Blind Zone Steering Assist with Trailering (RPO code UKW) are now standard features for the Chevy Colorado Z71, Trail Boss, and ZR2 trims, while Rear Cross Traffic Braking (RPO code UFB) is now standard on all 2025 Colorado trim levels. Finally, Rear Park Assist (RPO code UD7) is now standard on all trim levels as well.
These updates to the 2025 Chevy Colorado Z71 features list are part of GM’s broader Winning with Simplicity initiative, wherein the automaker aims to decrease costs by cutting design and engineering expenses, reducing order complexity, and other product streamlining measures. GM hopes to save $200 million over the course of the 2024 calendar year through the new Winning with Simplicity initiative.
As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Colorado is motivated by the TurboMax turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, while under the skin, you’ll find the updated GM 31XX-2 platform. Vehicle assembly takes place at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri.

How about the WT and LT? The fact you have to pay extra for cruise control on a vehicle that easily approaches 40K with 4WD is almost surreal!
Cruise control is standard on all trims for 2025. Only the very basic trucks mostly for fleet use didn’t have cruise in 23 and 24.
For the love of all man, get rid of or turn off adaptive cruise control and give us back bigger naturally aspirated engines.
You can turn off adaptive cruise control, in favor of the standard cruise control.
Any chance for 45k+ that you can get a power passenger seat? I was hoping it would be available for 2025 but it appears it is a no go.
Lot’s of bad descisions at GM. Will miss the glacier blue metallic. The new blue is not nearly a nice. Wanted a ’25 in GBM. Guess I’m going elsewhere.
