2025 Chevy Colorado To Get Standalone LT Trim Level After All

GM Authority previously reported that the 2025 Chevy Colorado would drop its mid-range LT trim level and replace it with an LT option package for the WT trim. This would’ve been similar to what GM did with the 2025 GMC Canyon, turning the AT4X trim into an option package for the Canyon AT4.

However, Chevy is reversing course and keeping the Colorado LT alive as its own trim level. It includes the contents of the planned LT Appearance and Convenience Package (XTD) that was destined to be optional on the WT. This includes conveniences like cloth seats (heated in front), carpeted floor mats, remote start, dual-zone automatic climate control, a tilt/telescoping steering column, and a rear USB port. The steelies are upgraded to 17-inch aluminum wheels.

Additionally, there’s a new LT Convenience Package (RPO XTD) available for the LT trim. It bundles the contents of the Technology Package (CWM) plus a few extras. Here’s everything you get with the new LT Convenience Package:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (KSG)
  • Rear Pedestrian Alert (UKK)
  • HD Surround Vision (UV2)
  • Rear center armrest (DA5)
  • Driver seatback pocket (E90)
  • Heated steering wheel (KI3)
  • Wireless Charging (K7A)
  • 120-volt rear console power outlet (KI6)
  • 120-volt bed-mounted power outlet (KC9)
  • Dual rear charge-only USB ports (UBI)
  • LED headlamps (T4L)
  • LED fog lamps (T40)
  • LED Daytime Running Lamps (T7E)
  • LED tail lamps (T93)
  • EvoTex front seats (HXR)

The new LT Convenience Package indirectly replaces the 2024 Colorado LT’s LT Convenience Package III (RPO PDB). However, the latter didn’t include the contents of the Technology Package.

The reshuffling of the Chevy Colorado’s trim and option offerings is part of GM’s “Winning with Simplicity” initiative. There’s an industry-wide trend of automakers simplifying the car shopping process while also cutting costs by reducing the number of configuration possibilities.

As covered previously, the 2025 Chevy Colorado will drop the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine, which was previously equipped as standard for the 2024 model year. As such, the 2025 Colorado will be available exclusively with the more powerful turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque.

The Chevy Colorado rides on an updated variant of the GMT 31XX platform, and production will start at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri on December 2nd, five weeks later than originally planned.

  1. I’ve noticed over the years, the online order guide for any new model year is fleshed out over time.

    1. The order guides didn’t change… the decision to drop LT changed. Dealers were informed late last week.

  2. Now we just need to add another interior color choice to LT on up trim levels, an additional cab and larger bed size, nicer alloy wheels and a diesel

      1. Nonsense! The entire reason for the Colorado’s existence along with the Ranger, Tacoma and Frontier is the smaller size and lower price tags. Not everybody wants a full size pickup or even has the need for something this big. And many owners such as myself don’t have a need for 4 doors and would rather have a larger bed size that runs a small business or just needs to occasionally haul something around and wants better mileage than what a full size can offer!

        1. Colorado’s were offered in crew cab longer bed and extended cab longer bed in last generation trucks…very few bought them……ya think that has something to do with why their not making them anymore.
Why tool up and build for a very small market and make the cost go up for the entire line. This is a no brainier for any manufacturer. This is common sense people. Ford did the same with Ranger.

          1. Dealers are to blame not buyers. If all you carry is crewcabs you’re only going to sell crewcabs. Hence almost all WT silverado are flipping white when I need a black one. Dealers are scum

          2. Funny then that I literally see tons of them on a daily basis all over the place in extended cab configuration. Even every Advance Auto and Autozone has at least 3 extended cab Colorado’s sitting in the parking lots for deliveries in each nearby city. They sold far better than GM is claiming. This is just gM dumbing things down, streamlining and saving money at the expense of customers.
