The 2025 Chevy Colorado debuts a variety of updates and changes compared to the preceding 2024 model year, including a revised exterior paint lineup, deletion of the base-level L2R engine and the LT trim level becoming a Work Truck option package. In addition to the debut of the Midnight Edition package, the 2025 Chevy Colorado also drops the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine from the powertrain lineup, previously offered as standard. Instead the more-powerful turbocharged 2.7L I4 L3B gasoline engine will be the exclusive powertrain option, rated at 310 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. By comparison, the turbocharged 2.7L I4 L2R gasoline engine is rated at 237 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque.
Further updates for the 2025 model year include the introduction of three new exterior paint options, namely Snowdrift Metallic (paint code GAE), Reef Blue Metallic (paint code GAL), and Sunrise Orange (paint code GBF). The three new exterior colors will replace Nitro Yellow Metallic, Glacier Blue Metallic, and Sand Dune Metallic.
All Chevy Colorado variants ride on the updated GMT 31XX platform, while production will get underway at the GM Wentzville plant in Missouri this coming December. The December production date is five weeks later than was originally planned.

You got rid of the last two colors I wanted while planning to buy a new 2025 ZR2 or ZR2 Bison. I was even willing to overlook consumer reports gradings on the 50’s for reliability of the Colorados. But when you got rid of the Neon Yellow and Glacier Blue, we’ll the was the final shove. I’ll be visiting the Toyota dealers to look at buying a New Fore Runner.
Not very many people checked Nitro yellow on the order forms although I also like it, I can see why would not keep a very low seller? They have another similar blue color for 2025. If you do your homework you could possibly find out that Reliability of the 2024 Colorado is better then 2024 Tacoma, Frontier and Ranger. 4Runner is an interesting choice because it’s an SUV not a mid size pick up, however they are also nice vehicles.
How about offering a plain old red? Victory red or whatever they want to call it. Also, how about offering a RST? You can get a RST Tahoe, but not a Colorado?
These things are already blacked out enough with literally the only chrome being the Colorado badge. What a total money grab!
Would have been nice to see pictures of these new colors.
If only they could bring back the V6 … I hate all turbo 4cyl engines. And for the Colorado /Canyon, it drinks as much as the V6.
Rather have a V6 in it.
I would have considered getting a new canyon or Colorado if they continued to make the duramax diesel engine with them. I’ll keep my 2021 canyon diesel thanks .
