The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq debuts the all-electric crossover’s third model year, bringing with it several important updates and changes. As covered previously, these include deleting the base-level Tech trim and reducing parts by 24 percent compared to the 2024 model year. Now, Cadillac has announced improved range and efficiency ratings for the 2025 Lryiq.
The maximum range estimate has boosted from 314 miles for the 2024 model up to 326 miles for the 2025 model. As was the case previously, the Lyriq RWD gets a slightly longer range than the AWD variant. The 2025 Lyriq AWD gets up to 319 miles of range with the 11.5 kW on-board charger, but it only gets 303 miles of range with the optional 19.2 kW on-board charger. “All-wheel-drive Lyriqs equipped with the 19.2 kW charger are exclusively higher trim level vehicles, which are heavier on average because of their standard and available features,” Cadillac said when we asked why the range rating is lower when equipped with the faster on-board charger. “This equipment mass difference factors into how the EPA calculates range estimates.”
The 19.2 kW on-board charger is a $1,480 option on the Luxury 2, Sport 2, Luxury 3, and Sport 3 trims. It’s unavailable on the Luxury 1 and Sport 1.

The U.S.-market Cadillac Lyriq’s improved ratings come shortly after improved range and efficiency ratings were announced for the Canadian-market Lyriq. In Canada, the Lyriq RWD range boosts from 505 km to 525 km. For the AWD variant, it’s up from 494 km to 513 km.
These favorable range and efficiency ratings are especially welcome, considering the improved horsepower ratings for the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq. The Lyriq RWD improves from 340 horsepower to 365 horsepower, and the Lyriq AWD gets a 15-horsepower bump up to 515 horsepower.
Under the body panels, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq once again rides on the GM BEV3 platform, with GM Ultium Drive motors and GM Ultium batteries providing the motivation. Both RWD and AWD variants will be offered, with production for the North American market taking place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.

Table needs correction: The 2025 AWD 11.5 and 19kW values are flipped
I’ll wait for at least 500-600. No thanks.
I won’t go that far, but at least another hundred.
Are there technical changes between the 2024 and 2025 models that explain those differences or have the testing methods changed? Alternatively have they just retested and gotten better results?
I was asking the same exact question concerning my 2024 vs 2025 range increase difference in the Equinox EV. I received two answers, one mentioning equipment differences and the other saying it was due to test parameters changes.
The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq EV will reduce part count 24 percent from consolidation of systems. This leads to more efficiency and likely less weight which will improve overall range performance.
This needs a diesel with the 8 speed to be competitive.
