Although production was originally planned to begin this summer, the updated 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing have yet to arrive in dealerships. However, GM Authority has confirmed with a Cadillac spokesperson that production is underway for the two V-Series variants of the CT5. “Cadillac plans to begin shipping 2025MY vehicles later this year, which aligns with what we announced at reveal,” Cadillac said.
As is normal procedure for General Motors models that are either new or have been refreshed with the new model year, the initial 2025 Cadillac CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing units produced are likely subject to a quality hold.
As for the more modest, non-V variants of the Cadillac CT5, they began shipping to dealers in June 2024.
Updates for the 2025 model year include revisions to the front end, with new air intakes and aero ground effects, as well as new front fenders. The lighting is also new, with redesigned headlights that incorporate stacked vertical lighting components and LED headlamps in the corners. The 2025 model year also introduces a few new exterior colors, such as Drift Metallic, Deep Space Metallic, and Typhoon Metallic.
The updates continue in the cabin, with a 33-inch-diagonal LED display now dominating the dash layout. The semi-autonomous GM Super Cruise hands-free driver assist system is also included as standard for the 2025 CT5-V. Units of the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing models equipped with the optional 10-speed automatic transmission also equip Super Cruise as standard.
The new 2025 Cadillac CT5-V starts at $58,390, while the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing starts at $96,990. Both price tags are significantly higher than they were for the 2024 model-year vehicles, with the 2025 CT5-V now $5,500 more expensive and the six-speed manual CT5-V Blackwing now $2,100 more expensive. Units of the 2025 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing equipped with the GM 10-speed automatic are now $5,200 more expensive than they were for the 2024 model year.
The 2025 Cadillac CT5-V sport sedan uses a performance-tuned version of the twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 LGY engine, rated at 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Meanwhile, the high-performance 2025 CT5-V Blackwing features the supercharged 6.2L V8 LT4 gasoline engine, pumping out 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque.
The CT5 remains on the GM Alpha 2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Lansing Grand River plant in Michigan.

When will the build and configurator go live?
I finally got my 2024 ctv 5 BW IN Apr this yr. Waited 2.5 yrs with dealer in Canada. I have no complaintes. Just thankful they never forgot about me and my down payment. I feel blesed that I actually got one in Canada. If you pressed me for a complaint I would say the sound system is far from good. My 2017 Lexus RX 350 blows it out the door sound wise….weird as they boast 16 or so speakers. Otherwise the car is as good as the reviews say…. Fukien awesome ! !,
I ordered a 2025 CT5V 6.2L August 23, from Carter GM in Burnaby BC. To the best of my knowledge production begins in January but no one can say for sure & the lack of information is driving me nuts!
I ordered my ct5-V BW in September……just EXACTLY when will this car be shipped to Houston?
