General Motors’ SAIC-GM joint venture in China has just officially introduced the 2025 Buick GL8 Century in the Asian country.
The automaker introduced the 2025 Buick GL8 Century in China’s domestic market, ushering in the third model year of the brand’s flagship MPV designed, manufactured and marketed exclusively in that country. SAIC-GM stated that the 2025 GL8 Century lineup will soon arrive at dealerships with some exterior trim upgrades and more refined equipment that will elevate the MPV’s onboard experience.
The all-new 2025 Buick GL8 Century made its debut at the recently held 2024 Buick LPGA Shanghai Women’s Golf Championship in China, the premier event of its kind in the world with a high audience level that Buick used to showcase the vehicle’s enhanced features. The model tasked with introducing the 2025 GL8 Century lineup to the golf tournament was the top-of-the-line four-seat Flagship variant.
In particular, the 2025 Buick GL8 Century features more refined finishes both on the exterior and in the cabin with new aesthetic and functional elements that reinforce its luxury proposition. Exterior design updates for the Flagship model’s exclusive two-tone body include new wheels and increased use of contrasting gold accents on various moldings, as well as a slight change to the front grille finish.
Meanwhile, the interior of the 2025 Buick GL8 Century debuts newly developed “cloud”-style captain’s chairs that add an extra layer to the backrest and cushion that increases the comfort level for passengers. The new seats feature 14 proprietary quilting technologies and are covered in soft-touch cotton fiber that Buick says not only improves comfort, but also offers increased vibration filtering and better support.
The 2025 Buick GL8 Century will be officially launched in the Chinese market in the coming weeks and will reinforce the strong lineup of Buick’s successful full-size MPV, which has the longest sales history among models in its class and remains the benchmark in the segment. In addition to the new seats, the cabin receives Buick’s latest infotainment system for the 32-inch sliding rear screen and the central command display.

Cadillac wants to move up-market. This setup should be in the back of a Cadillac Escalade ESC executive edition. Companies would shell out big bucks to pamper their million dollar babies.
Another example of China getting new while the US gets refreshed.
I would like to purchase one!
