2025 Buick Envision Gets New Brilliant Red Color: First Look

The 2025 Buick Envision ushers in the model year following the mid-cycle refresh introduced for 2024, with only a handful of updates and changes made to the crossover. Among these is the retirement of a single color, Cinnabar Metallic (color code GEJ), and introduction of another exterior paint color as an indirect replacement – Brilliant Red. Here, GM Authority is looking in detail at the Brilliant Red option.

Brilliant Red is tagged with color code GAS and touch-up paint number WA-227K. It is one of the seven exterior paint colors offered for the 2025 Buick Envision, which include the following (relevant color codes in parenthesis:

  • Calypso Blue Metallic (GZC)
  • Ebony Twilight Metallic (GB8)
  • Moonstone Gray Metallic (GZA)
  • Smokey Amethyst Metallic (G88)
  • Summit White (GAZ)
  • White Frost Tricoat (GE8)
  • Brilliant Red (GAS – new for 2025)

Turning to availability, Brilliant Red is offered as an extra-charge item on two of the crossover’s three trim levels, the Preferred and Sport Touring trims. For these trims, it is priced at $495. Meanwhile, it is available as a no-charge paint option on the range-topping Avenir trim.

The Brilliant Red exterior paint color can be combined with all interior colorways except the Avenir’s Cool Gray seats with Slate Blue interior accents (color code H9K). As a reminder, the model has five interior colorways available, including the following:

  • Ebony seats with Ebony interior accents (H2G)
  • Sandstone seats with Ebony interior accents (H8R)
  • Ebony seats with Sky Cool Gray and Ebony interior accents (HSG)
  • Garnet seats with Ebony interior accents (HCK)
  • Cool Gray seats with Slate Blue interior accents (H9K)

Pricing for the 2025 Envision, as discovered by GM Authority, starts at $37,895 for the Preferred trim and ranges up to a base MSRP of $47,595 for the Avenir trim. These figures include a destination freight charge of $1,395. Four other colors are also extra-charge, including three at $495 and the tricoat color at $1,095.

Under the hood, the 2025 Envision cradles a single powerplant choice, specifically the turbocharged 2.0L I4 LSY gasoline engine rated at 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque The GM nine-speed automatic transmission puts the power to the pavement, while all three trim levels feature an all-wheel drivetrain as standard.

For structure, the Buick Envision is underpinned by the GM E2 platform. Production of the crossover model takes place exclusively at the GM-SAIC Jinqiao Plant in China.

  4. If you check the order guide you will see that White Frost Tricoat is also getting replaced. It shows it as built out for the model year and that Iridescent White Tricoat (GEP) is taking its place.

  5. Buick has 4 vehicles for sale and 3 are made out of the U.S. and the envision may be stopped from entry into the U.S. due to possible Chinese electronic surveillance. We need made in USA.

  6. Sorry, but this Buick is made exclusively in Jinqiao China. I refuse to buy a vehicle made in China!
