Watch A Ford Super Duty Pull A GMC Sierra HD Denali Out Of A Lake: Video

In the immortal rivalry between Ford and General Motors, the Blue Oval just scored a notable win – at least on the surface. A short video recently posted on social media shows a Ford Super Duty pulling a GMC Sierra HD Denali out of a lake, all while the GMC is still hitched to a jet ski and trailer. While the video might seem like a simple victory for Ford, it also highlights the resilience of the GMC Sierra HD, which, despite being totally submerged, shows some signs of life.

The clip is about 30 seconds long, and appears as though it was captured at Lake Havasu in Arizona, according to the hashtags accompanying the post. The video begins with the Ford Super Duty positioned at the end of a boat launch, with a taut tow strap leading back to the water. As the Ford begins to pull forward, the headlights of the submerged GMC Sierra HD Denali (2020 to 2023 model year) come into view. Slowly but surely, the Sierra HD emerges with its hazard lights flashing as the Ford tows it up the launch. Impressively, the trailer and jet ski attached to the GMC remain intact throughout the rescue.

In a subsequent clip, we see the Sierra’s doors swung open and water gushing out. Despite this, the truck’s headlights and some of its electrical systems continue to function, suggesting that the Sierra HD might not be down for the count just yet.

While the video appears to be a win for Ford, it’s unlikely that the GMC ended up in the lake due to a mechanical failure. More likely, it was user error that led to this unfortunate situation. However, the fact that some of the GMC Sierra HD’s electrical components are still somewhat functional after being submerged is at the very least a testament to its durability.
