Twin-Turbo Corvette E-Ray Does 0-60 In Neck-Snapping 2.0 Seconds

Vehicle performance specs are absolutely ridiculous these days, and the C8 Corvette lineup is certainly no exception. In stock guise, models like the Corvette E-Ray can dole out some seriously insane speed. However, take a foray into the aftermarket, and the numbers get even crazier, as evidenced by this twin-turbo E-Ray snapping off a 0-to-60 mph run in two seconds dead.

Engine in a modified Corvette E-Ray.

Recently posted online by Andrew Zurick, the video focuses on the modified C8’s gauge cluster, showing in dramatic fashion just how quickly this thing gets going. After coming to a stop and activating the Performance Timer, the driver builds the revs to 3,500 rpm before letting it rip. The twin-turbo Corvette E-Ray races past the 60-mph mark in two seconds, as indicated by the timer, before continuing on to an eye-widening 118 mph. The driver smartly shuts it down after that. The gauge cluster also provides an indication of how much electric horsepower is being transmitted through the front-mounted electric motor, while on the right-hand side of the cluster, we see a warning that says “ESC Enabled, Speed Too High With Top Down.”

According to Zurick, this particular model, a 2LZ trim with roughly 2,300 miles on it, made 629 horsepower at the rear wheels, which combines with around 160 horsepower up front from the electric motor. Without the turbochargers, the E-Ray’s naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 spun the rollers with 440 rear-wheel horsepower.

Upgrades now include a Huron Speed Twin Turbo Kit, including intercooler, as well as Kooks two-inch headers and exhaust, HP Tuners ECU, and DSX Tuning with an E85 Flex Fuel map. Interestingly, Zurick has listed the car for sale.

“I’m selling because this is my favorite car – but it wasn’t the spec I ordered,” Zurick writes. “It was what was available and we needed it for development. My new one just was invoiced and is on the way to Bob Fisher Chevy in Reading PA.”

Pricing for Zurick’s twin-turbo Corvette E-Ray is listed at $128,870.

“Because of the timeline I’m selling for what I think is a steal – MSRP,” the seller adds.

All in all, it’s impressive to see what a boosted E-Ray can accomplish, even on street tires. Naturally, we can’t wait to see what Chevy does with the twin-turbo LT7-powered, hybrid C8 Zora.

  1. Adios to your warranty.

    1. This was never about warranty but everything related to development. Don’t you think the seller will do the same thing to the car he spec’d?
