NASCAR Chevy Trucks Have Quiet Day At Kansas: Video

The NASCAR Chevy Truck Series team had a quiet run at Kansas Speedway on September 27th, 2024, but that wasn’t a bad thing. Now that the Round of 12 has wrapped up, that leaves The Bow Tie brand with five trucks still in the title fight.

Christian Eckes, driver of the No. 19 Chevy Silverado RST, brought his truck across the line in third, the best of all the NASCAR Chevy teams. He led 19 laps, but just didn’t have the speed to catch race winner Corey Heim in the No. 11 Toyota TRD Tundra, or the runner-up Layne Riggs in the No. 38 Ford F-150.

Bret Holmes in the No. 32 NASCAR Chevy Silverado RST, ahead of the No. 99 Ford F-150 and the No. 17 Toyota Tundra.

Kaden Honeycutt followed in fourth, driving the No. 45 Silverado. Dawson Sutton’s No. 25 Silverado rounded out the top five. Meanwhile, Daniel Dye, driver of the No. 43 Silverado, scraped the wall on two separate occasions during the first stage and had to make multiple unscheduled pit stops to correct the damage. At the end of the day, it wasn’t enough, and he finished 27th, two laps down, eliminating him from championship contention. He was 25 points away from making it.

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 9 Silverado, narrowly escaped elimination after finishing ninth, thanks in part to the misfortune of fellow Playoff driver, Ben Rhodes. Rhodes’ No. 99 Ford F-150 finished 22nd after running out of fuel, dooming him to elimination from the Playoffs, allowing Enfinger the chance he needed to make it.

“It was definitely a little bit stressful, definitely too close for comfort there,” Enfinger said. “This is a round we want to forget. We snuck through here, and now we’re looking forward to going to Talladega next week [for the first race in the Round of 8].”

That leaves Eckes, Enfinger, Nick Sanchez (No. 2 Silverado), Raja Caruth (No. 71 Silverado), and Tyler Ankrum (No. 18 Silverado) as the remaining NASCAR Chevy drivers who are still championship eligible.
