Here’s How Much The 2025 Chevy Traverse High Country Will Cost

When the all-new, third-generation 2024 Chevy Traverse came out, its trim structure was a little different than the outgoing 2023 model. Even with the addition of the all-new Z71 variant, the new Traverse had fewer trims than the old Traverse. That’s because its two most luxury-oriented trims, the Traverse Premier and Traverse High Country, were both removed from the lineup. That left the RS as the new top trim.

The Chevy Traverse High Country has returned for the 2025 model year. Its starting price is $54,995 with front-wheel drive and $56,995 with all-wheel drive (pricing figures include the $1,395 destination charge). For comparison, the 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited High Country started at $53,395 with FWD and $55,595 with AWD. The 2025 model, which starts production next month, brings price hikes of $1,600 and $1,400, respectively.

2025 Chevy Traverse High Country Rendering

In keeping with Chevy’s Y-shaped trim structure, the 2025 Chevy Traverse High Country is the premium counterpart to the sportier Traverse RS. A bit surprisingly, the High Country trim is actually cheaper than the RS. Looking at the Tahoe, Suburban, and Silverado lineups, their High Country models are much more expensive than their respective RST trims. Still, the Traverse High Country has feature content similar to the RS, with the differences between the two being primarily aesthetic.

The Premier and High Country trims of the outgoing Traverse were arguably redundant. As GM Authority has previously reported, Chevy was considering dropping the High Country from the Traverse lineup, but we later learned that a new Traverse High Country wasn’t off the table. We expected a Premier trim for the 2025 model year when we saw one in the wild in Spring, but Chevy has since decided to keep the High Country name instead.

Outside of the Traverse model range, Chevy reserves the High Country moniker for luxurious trims of full-size trucks and SUVs. Meanwhile, Chevy applies the Premier trim to more affordable cars and crossovers like the Blazer and, previously, the Malibu, Equinox, Bolt EV, and Bolt EUV.

High Country is like Chevy’s counterpart of GMC’s Denali and Buick’s Avenir, and applying it to the Traverse gives it a little more in common with more expensive and aspirational SUVs like the Tahoe and Suburban.

More gM weirdness making the cheaper looking blackout version more expensive. It’s just another profit generator for other projects.

Some like the black wheels, etc., for me the contrast of the chrome or silver colored wheels adds a much classier look.

I have a 2018 Chevy Traverse that has had a few problems. I am definitely going to buy the new 2025 Chevy Traverse hopefully at the beginning of 2025, right now The only thing holding me back from ordering one is no models offer HUD and Could be a game-breaker for me. I have HUD in my 2021 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD and totally love it. With the new awesome technology in the 2024 traverse I am super surprised they don’t have HUD.

IF HUD is what you want get the GMC Acadia. Better looking grill, HUD standard, 3rd seat window looks MUCH better than Traverse…Giant information screen…they are a nice looking and comfortable car.

HUD. Stands for heads up display.
Most HUD systems project driver information to the bottom driver side windshield, or a panel in that location.

Not trying to be nit-picky, but it actually stands for head up display, as only the driver can see it and as of yet I haven’t seen any two headed drivers since Rosey Grier and Ray Milland.

Totally understand. That’s why after extensive search and test drives I ended buying an Acadia Denali. It has HUD plus much better sound insulation and Super Cruise is standard.

Who says Chevy buyers don’t care about engine size. I have a 2022 Premier and will be keeping mine. I have driven the ’24 and the engine is noisy with an unpleasant sound. As for power, that turbo is working overtime on that 4300 lbs vehicle. Since all the GM 3 row crossovers have the 4 cyl for ’25, when I buy my next one I will be shopping other brands. Sorry, Mary!

And the ridiculous and flagrant lies constantly spewing from a few in this forum who claim that the four cylinder engine is the cat’s meow! They obviously work for GM and aren’t in touch with the reality of how stupid and pathetic that four cylinder engine really is!

The 4 cylinder engine is a deal breaker for me. I will be keeping my 2022 Traverse Premier. If you want an auto writer’s opinion of the 4 cyl engine read Aaron Bragman’s review of the 2025 Buick Enclave in the GM authority. Not good!

The four cylinder engine was a major deal breaker for me when I test drove two 2024 Acadia models, one of them being an AT4. The engine really struggled to move this larger and heavier vehicle, as well as being rough and noisy overall.

I’m still not understanding why GM didn’t at least continue to offer the option to purchase a V6 engine. I’d be driving the Acadia AT4 right now if I could have gotten a V6 engine in it!

Is there a way to tag GM, GM Executives and CEO in these comments? Ford listens to their consumers on some of the key things they want (like offering V6 options in certain trims).

GM completely alienates its V6 consumer-base. I indeed test drove the 2024 Chevy Traverse in the summer and that is definitely holding me back. The vehicle whined and struggled; I could feel it.

Startup was weak too, but that is much much a lesser issue compared to the Engine.

Another hesitation was all the Consumer Reports of Transmission failure at less than 2000 miles, many at less than 1000 miles. Other failed components / issues. 3rd row not folding appropriately.

I asked Chevrolet Sales agent. They all keep saying they’re not aware of those issues / reports, when it’s really everywhere and cars are being kept on lots until a fix is provided. (They must be lying !!)

The Top Trim Level in the Full Size GM SUV’s has the 6.2 where as the other Trim Levels have 5.3. Why would you not offer the same selection in the Buick Avenir, Acadia Denali, Chevrolet High Country? Makes no Sense to me,

After driving both the Avenir and Denali I am not a candidate to buy one with the Engine Noise. I have been waiting for the re-design for a Number of Months but no Interest in spending the Money without 3.6 Engine. Starting to look at Competition.

I do know that the GMC Arcadia does have HUD. The only thing is it’s approximately $7000 more than the traverse RS. It is more luxurious. I understand but $7000 is a lot to pay for a little bit of a better ride and HUD.

I would say if you want the V-6, get the 2024 Chevy Traverse Limited Premier or High Country. Or get the 2024 Buick Enclave Premium or Avenir w/the V-6 as well.

In addition, most of you may not know this. Toyota has found that buyers of their Highlander or even the luxury Lexus RX 350 or RX 450 Hybrid are very unhappy with the Turbo 4 Banger in them. It’s the same problem. It’s loud; Friend of mine bought the Lexus RX 350, and he said w/that 4 Banger the RX engine is loud runs like a piece of tin. Consumer Reports says the same thing.

So here is what Toyota is offering I know on their 2025 Highlander. They’re bringing back the V-6 as an option at least on the upper trims. Two dealerships confirmed this for me. Too bad GM didn’t come to their senses. Hopefully, when they start seeing Highlanders coming out w/the optional V-6, then GM may follow suit.

Shopped 2025 SUVs. We did not like the noise or performance of turbo 4 cylinders. We really liked the quiet and performance of the twin overhead cam V-6 in the Honda Pilot. We bought one and are very impressed with the vehicle so far. Quality build and nice materials.

I wish Chevy would offer the color orange in their lineup.I also wish I could go without the 3rd row seat in the 2025 Traverse and just had the well for out of site storage. Is the torbocharged 4 really that bad? I am thinkin really hard about the 2025 Traverse Premier. what do you think?

Everyone complained about the V6 the first ten years it was first out … I find the complaints about the four cylinder quite humorous. It is a far better engine. Doesn’t have a 3-mile long timing chain, for instance …

As I stated earlier, either get the 2024 Traverse Limited Premier or High Country with the V-6, or the 2024 Buick Enclave Premium or Avenir with the V-6.
Or as I also stated earlier, the new 2025 Toyota Highlander Gasoline engine comes with the V-6. The Hybrid still comes w/the noisy V-4.
At least Toyota came back to their senses bringing back the V-6 Gasoline engine in the Highlander.
Rumor has it that Lincoln is bringing out on a V-6 Hybrid on at least 1 of their 2025 SUVs.

One more GM SUV to consider is the 2025 Cadillac XT6. You can get the that same Optional V-6, as in the 2024 Traverse Limited Premier and High Country, and the 2025 Buick Enclave Premium and Avenir.
