The refreshed 2025 Chevy Tahoe got its big debut in November, unveiling updated styling, an overhauled cabin, and a new diesel engine option. So far, we’ve seen the refreshed 2025 Tahoe in the off-road Z71 trim and the sporty RST Trim. Now, we’re getting a look at the refreshed SUV in the penultimate Premier trim.
When it comes to the 2025 Chevy Tahoe trim level lineup, the Premier slots in below the range topping High Country, and above the Z71, RST, LT, and LS. In terms of the styling, the RST, Z71, and High Country incorporate several unique touches to help them standout from the rest of the trim level lineup. However, the Premier incorporates its own recognizable exterior details as well, including LED headlamps with LED daytime running lamps and animated lighting signatures (RPO code TGE) in the front fascia, as well as LED tail lamps with an animation feature (RPO code TAU) in the rear. By comparison, the LS and LT trims incorporate LED headlamps (RPO code TGD) and LED tail lamps (RPO code TAB) without an animation feature.
The Premier also features a set of chrome door handles with a body color strip (RPO code B1V), as compared to body-color door handles without chrome (RPO code D75) on LS and LT. The Premier’s side view mirror have chrome caps (RPO code DP9), while the LS and LT have body-color caps (RPO code DP9), and the Premier rides on 20-inch polished aluminum wheels (RPO code RD2) versus the 18-inch Bright Silver painted aluminum wheels (RPO code RCV) included as standard on LS and LT trims.
As for the powertrain spec, the naturally aspirated 5.3L V8 L84 gasoline engine is equipped as standard on every trim except High Country,, while the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 L87 gasoline engine is optional for the RST, Z71, and Premier, and standard for High Country. The new 3.0L I6 LZ0 turbodiesel Duramax engine is optional for LT, RST, Z71, Premier, and High Country. Check out our previous coverage for more information on engine availability.

Nice machine! Looks expensive too.
Did they really get rid of the summit white option?
Kissy: Yes, GM pulled the same move with the Blazer. I guess the thought is that if you can afford the Premier trim and you want white, another thousand $ for the Pearl Tricoat is no big deal.
This is the vehicle GM should be sending to Australia. But NO, that would make too much sense. We already have the Chevy Silverado here and doing well through GMSV. We also have the Chevy C8 Corvette here through GMSV and the Chevy Camaro ZL1 is racing in our V8 Supercars category. So GM decide they will now sell the GMC Yukon here. They already have a Chevrolet based following but let's not Build on that. Such a DUMB COSTLY MOVE. Also they are now looking to start selling Cadillac here which will be fantastic but will only be an EV. This has got to be on of the biggest fails ever. Australians are walking away from EVs just like Americans. Obviously not much Grey Matter in the Cadillac Marketing Dept. The GM CEO really needs to take a good hard look at herself.
I've always been a big fan of GM but the last few years they have become plain ugly. I currently own eight Suburbans, Tahoe's and Yukon's but will not own any if the newer garbage. Looks like they are getting their inspiration from the Japanese. Just my two cents.
Not sure if I would ever buy another Tahoe after my transmission already went out on my unmistreated 2018 Tahoe. Mechanic said this is very common on the Tahoes because of the aluminum in the makeup of the newer transmissions that wears out easily! Very disappointed in Chevy! Very expensive to fix! Never needed this done on any of my older Chevys!
