GMSV Now Taking 2025 Corvette Orders In Australia And New Zealand

The C8 Corvette is the first production Vette to offer right-hand drive direct from the factory, making it even more appealing to overseas buyers in right-hand drive markets. That includes Australia and New Zealand, where the new mid-engine Corvette is on offer from GM Specialty Vehicles (GMSV). Now, GMSV has announced that it is taking orders for the 2025 Corvette for sale in the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The 2025 Corvette is now on sale in Australia.

In a series of posts to social media, GMSV teased the three 2025 Corvette variants on offer, including the C8 Corvette Stingray, the C8 Corvette Z06, and the C8 Corvette E-Ray.

The C8 Corvette Stingray is available in two trim levels and two body configurations, including the 2LT and 3LT trims, and the Coupe and Convertible body styles. As is also the case for stateside models, the Oceania-spec C8 Stingray cradles the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine, which is rated at 490 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, all of which is fed to the rear wheels by way of the GM eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission co-developed with Tremec.

Meanwhile, the C8 Corvette Z06 is available in a single trim level, namely the range-topping 3LZ, although the naturally aspirated 5.5L V8 LT6 gasoline engine is a bit less powerful than it is in U.S.-spec trim. Output is rated at 637 horsepower, a considerable drop from the 670 horsepower we get stateside, with the reduced power number the result of a new exhaust system fitted with a petrol particulate filter to help the Z06 meet European emissions standards and noise regulations.

No such problems for the hybrid-powered C8 Corvette E-Ray, which doles out a healthy 655 horsepower and 594 pound-feet of torque thanks the the combination of the same naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 LT2 gasoline engine equipped by the C8 Stingray, plus a front-mounted electric motor, providing all-wheel grip in the process.

As a reminder, all C8 variants ride on the GM Y2 platform, while production takes place at the GM Bowling Green plant in Kentucky.

Is that an option they have to order ? Or do all corvettes that go overseas have right hand drive ?
If it’s an option, what is the price for the option ? We went to the plant in 1993 and there were different mirrors and marker lights , tail lights were different as well for Canada and Europe.
