GMC Hummer EV SUV Shows Off Paint Options While CrabWalking On San Francisco Streets: Video

The GMC Hummer EV isn’t short on attention-grabbing details, with a tall, tough demeanor, off-roading aesthetic, and a wide range of EV-enabled features. Among those features is CrabWalk mode, which enables the all-electric rig to move diagonally thanks to rear wheels that point in tandem with the fronts. Now, we’re watching as the GMC Hummer EV SUV shows off CrabWalk and several different paint colors on the streets of San Francisco thanks to the following brief video.

A line of GMC Hummer EV SUVs in San Francisco.

Clock in at a minute in length, the video is titled “Paint the Town,” and begins with several examples of the battery-powered SUV rolling down Lombard Street, navigating through tricky turns. Despite the size, the SUVs handle the tight twists with ease, showing off four of the Hummer EV SUV’s paint options in the process – Solar Orange (paint code GAG), Meteorite Metallic (paint code GNO), Tide Metallic (paint code G7X), and Void Black (paint code GBA).

After navigating down Lombard Street, the quartet of all-electric SUVs hit Filbert Street. This time, the EVs perform some synchronized CrabWalking, moving diagonally down the road.

Coincidentally, GM Authority has its own video of the GMC Hummer EV SUV captured on the streets of San Francisco, with GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft providing an interior tour of the range-topping Edition 1 trim level, going over all the important features and design characteristics. Check it out in its entirety below:

As a reminder, the GMC Hummer EV is available in both an SUV and a Pickup body style. Output and powertrain configurations vary between the trim levels, up to a maximum of 1,000 horsepower produced by a trio of GM Ultium Drive motors. GM Ultium batteries provide the juice, while the GM BT1 platform provides the underpinnings. Vehicle production takes place at the GM Factory Zero facility in Michigan.
