The introduction of the 2025 Chevy Corvette ZR1 takes the C8 to the next level of performance. With a four-digit horsepower rating, it has its work cut out for it to deliver the agility and aerodynamics required to wield all of that power competently around a track. Any ZR1 makes a terrific track car, but enthusiasts serious about getting the best lap times will be interested in the ZTK performance package, which first debuted on the C7 ZR1 with a similar list of enhancements.
The ZTK package upgrades the ZR1’s aerodynamics, suspension, and tires for optimal performance. One could think of it this way: what the Z07 performance package is to the Z06, the ZTK package is to the ZR1. The main difference is that there’s no brake upgrade with the ZTK package; every C8 ZR1 uses carbon ceramic brakes that Chevy claims can bring the car from 80 mph to 200 mph and back to 80 mph in just 24.5 seconds.
The most visible upgrade with the ZTK package is a unique aero kit. The first thing you’ll notice is the aggressive, high-downforce rear wing, which is accompanied by a tall hood Gurney lip and front dive planes. All of the above are made of woven carbon fiber, keeping the weight in check. Take a peek under the car, and you’ll see underbody strakes providing greater downforce in front compared to the standard front underwing stall Gurney on the Corvette ZR1.
There’s no official word on how much downforce this aero package creates, but on the C7 ZR1, a similar aero kit made a whopping 950 pounds of downforce at top speed.
The inner beauty of the ZTK performance package is a unique suspension tuning that incorporates stiffer springs than the standard Corvette ZR1 suspension system. Every C8 ZR1 has Magnetic Selective Ride Control 4.0, but the ZTK package gets a special calibration. The cherry on top is a set of Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 R tires with their own unique TPC-spec.
The ZTK performance package is much more than just a big rear wing showing off that you got the most expensive Corvette. Chevy tested it out on world-renowned tracks like the Nürburgring, Road Atlanta, and Virginia International Raceway.
“We went into the ZR1 program with lofty goals, but even our first development tests on-track showed the teams were already exceeding them,” said recently retired Corvette executive chief engineer Tadge Juechter in a statement. “As we worked to develop this car, we continued to leap past expectations, and we knew we had a special Corvette on our hands.”

Is this the Zora we’ve supposedly seen in testing or is that still coming out? Someone made the comment what we saw testing could have been the ZTK pack just like with the C7 ZR1, but with the room for a motor and at these power levels AWD being a big help I can’t see them not coming out with a Zora, but this does raise suspicions we may not at the testers we saw were just ZTK packs of the ZR1 (hence the differences we saw from the ZR1 shown).
The Zora is coming.
ZTK was tested in conjunction with the ZR1.
The testers we see now are Zora, which will be based around ZR1 with ZTK.
I would like to know how / where I can purchase a 2025ZR 1. My local dealer here in Wisconsin said I probably Will not be able to get one because of limited supply, so if there’s someone out there who can tell me where I can order one I would appreciate it thank you.
Go on line there are many dealers with z06’s for sale. But be prepared to a stiff penalty ove sticker!
