Canadian part supplier ACS Composite, which specializes in Corvette accessories, has released a new front splitter for the C8. Specifically, it fits on the C8 Z06 and C8 E-Ray variants of the Corvette. ACS calls it the Z07 Front Splitter, intended to imitate the look of the front splitter that comes with the Z07 performance package available for the Z06. The big difference is that this one doesn’t require the racing canards or dive plane setup that comes with the Z07 package.
The standard front splitter on the C8 Z06 is a three-piece splitter, while this one from ACS Composite is a one-piece, giving it a cleaner look. It also sticks out farther for a more aggressive look and provides a more favorable angle than the factory splitter, enhancing the car’s downforce. The difference is likely negligible in everyday street driving, but could make a real difference on the track. Its Carbon Flash Metallic finish ensures that it matches the black exterior trim that comes on the C8.
ACS Composite claims that the PC composite material this splitter is made of is three times stronger than the factory splitter, providing greater scratch resistance and longer life. Also helping to maximize its lifespan are nine built-in skid plates. ACS Composite says this made-in-North America splitter fits right on the C8 Z06 and E-Ray using existing OEM mounting points with no drilling required. It’s estimated that installation can take less than 30 minutes using the proper tools, which include a 7mm ratchet (included with the kit), a pry tool (which you can add for an extra $50), and a T15 Torx wrench.
This ACS Composite front splitter is an excellent option for any C8 owners who like the Z07 front splitter, but don’t want all the extra bodywork or rear wing that normally comes with it. It makes the front of the Chevy Corvette look a little more aggressive without going overboard, plus it provides a real performance benefit on the track.
The ACS Composite Z07 front splitter costs $1,599 USD and ships free to Canada and the United States (excluding Hawaii and Puerto Rico).
