2025 GMC Sierra HD Configurator Live

Serving as the sixth model year of the heavy-duty truck’s fifth generation, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD introduces a few updates for the fresh model year, as the preceding 2024 Sierra HD debuted a substantial mid-cycle refresh. That being said, there are still some noteworthy changes for the 2025 model year, so for any prospective buyers looking to explore what Big Red’s heavy-duty pickup has to offer, the 2025 Sierra HD online configurator is now live.

Right off the rip, potential customers must opt between the 2500 HD and the 3500 HD. From there, both pickup series are offered in specific combinations of Regular Cab, Double Cab, Crew Cab, Standard Bed and Long Bed configurations. Of course, each one can then be customized with its own set of exterior paint colors, interior colorways, wheels, packages, and options.

As previously mentioned, the GMC Sierra HD features a few updates for the 2025 model year, including a new universal vehicle module, expanded park assist availability, standard adaptive cruise control on AT4 and Denali trim levels, and a reshuffling of wheel options and paint colors.

Under the hood, the 2025 GMC Sierra HD is available with one of two powerplants, including the naturally aspirated 6.6L V8 L8T gasoline engine, rated at 401 horsepower and 464 pound-feet of torque, or the 6.6L V8 L5P turbodiesel Duramax, rated at 470 horsepower and 975 pound-feet of torque. No matter engine option, both powerplants are mated to the Allison-branded 10-speed automatic transmission as standard.

In regard to structure, the Sierra HD rides on a more capable version of the GM T1 platform – the same architecture that underpins the Silverado HD. Meanwhile, production got underway in August 2024 at the GM Flint plant in Michigan. Pricing figures start at $48,295 for an entry-level Pro model with the gasoline engine.

  1. I will likely build mine with the gas engine since the diesels are having so many issues and costly repairs. I can buy a lot of gasoline for one diesel fuel system repair that’s not under warranty and that’s not counting the down time.

      1. The new diesels as far as I know are under a recall…from the manufacturer. Some complaints (NOT FOR EVERYONE) about check engine lights going on and etc…

  2. I noticed the 2025 model had been added on Sep 4, but the dually option was missing. Any idea when that will be added?

  3. I have a 2021 GMC Denali 3500 HD with the 6.6 Duramax and I use it to tow my 34 foot travel trailer and have had zero engine issues. I love how effortlessly it tows. Lots of power.

  4. Still can’t get bucket seats in the SLE and with the Silverado you can’t get LED headlights on the LT without a sports package with painted bumpers which is dumb, painted bumpers are easily pitted, scratched and chipped. Give me chrome bumpers and cloth seats with some nice features. You can get adaptive cruise and all the safety and tech but not the headlights. It should be either a standalone option, included in a tech or convenience package or standard across the line 9or atleast standard on LT and above since it has the fancier dash anyways).
