2025 Genesis GV60 Pricing Makes It More Competitive With Cadillac Optiq

The Genesis GV60 hit the ground running in 2021 as the premium brand’s very first all-electric vehicle. Since then, GM has been spotted benchmarking the battery-powered GV60 crossover as it gears up to release a rival in the form of the new Cadillac Optiq. Now, thanks to the latest pricing updates for the 2025 model year, the Genesis GV60 appears poised to offer even stronger competition for the forthcoming Optiq.

As it turns out, Genesis has added a new Standard AWD trim level to the GV60 lineup in conjunction with the 2025 model year. Pricing for the updated model starts at $55,850, or $57,200 when adding the destination freight charge. While pricing for the GV60 Standard AWD is just slightly above that of the top-tier Cadillac Optiq Sport 2 trim, the latter of which is offered at $57,090, the GV60’s dual-motor setup now aligns it more closely with the Optiq’s standard dual-motor setup.

In terms of overall value, the Cadillac Optiq still edges out the GV60 with a lower starting price and other perks, such as more range and a roomier interior. That said, the Genesis GV60 looks to maintain a performance edge, with up to 483 horsepower available from the Performance AWD trim with Boost Mode activated. This performance advantage will be elevated even further by the upcoming GV60 Magma model, offered as part of Genesis’ high-performance vehicle program.

To note, the new 2025 GV60 Standard AWD produces an estimated 314 horsepower and 446 pound-feet of torque, with an EPA-estimated range of 264 miles. Meanwhile, the Cadillac Optiq includes an 85 kWh GM Ultium battery pack and dual GM Ultium Drive motors, with output rated 300 horsepower and 354 pound-feet of torque, plus an estimated range-per-charge of 300 miles. The Cadillac Optiq will get its official U.S. launch later this year, while the all-electric Caddy crossover is already on sale in China.

Under the skin, the Cadillac Optiq rides on the GM BEV3 platform, while production for the U.S. market will take place at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

The GV60 is very nice but that raked rear is going to be a problem for cargo space. A problem the Optic doesn’t seem to have.
