2025 Chevy Equinox RS: Take A Deep Dive Into The Interior (Video)

The 2025 Chevy Equinox launches the crossover’s fourth generation, debuting a long list of updates and changes, including a new Activ trim level, new styling, and and an overhauled cabin brimming with fresh tech and features. Now, we’re taking a hands-on, in-depth look at the 2025 Chevy Equinox RS interior with the following GM Authority exclusive video.

The video clocks in at 31 minutes, with GM Authority Executive Editor Alex Luft serving as host to provide a thorough breakdown of every detail of the new cabin space in the 2025 Chevy Equinox RS.

First impressions of the 2025 Chevy Equinox RS interior reveal black upholstery offset by red and blue accent stitching. The cabin features a mix of soft and hard materials, with strategically placed soft-touch surfaces on the armrests and parts of the dash. Speaking of the dashboard, the infotainment spec in 2025 Chevy Equinox includes an 11-inch digital driver information center (DIC) and 11.3-inch infotainment display with Google integration, Android Auto, and Apple CarPlay.

In the corners of the dash are rounded air vents with a rifling effect around the perimeter, a detail that looks great. The 2025 Equinox also introduces physical HVAC controls, a welcome feature for many users as the broader industry trend moves towards digital controls. The HVAC control layout includes physical buttons for seat heating and ventilation.

The steering wheel is leather-wrapped with red stitching and paddle shifters, though the paddles can only be used in “Low” mode after pressing the L button on the steering wheels, thus enabling manual gear shifting. Other standout features include an inductive phone charger and longitudinally oriented cup holders. The entire layout benefits from the relocation of the shifter to the steering column, which provides additional space overall.

The rear seat is also highlighted for its flat floor, added legroom, and heated outboard seats. The cargo area is surprisingly spacious, and the rear seats fold nearly flat, enhancing practicality even further. The Equinox also features a large sunroof, with the soft-touch materials adding a more premium feel throughout.

Check out the full video above for more. As a reminder, the 2025 Chevy Equinox cradles the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine as standard, with the GM D2 platform providing the underpinning. Production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

It’s a shame Chevrolet decided not to build a Premeir. It was the model of choice for a lot of older buyers. The demographic with cash to buy. Those buyers like leather and they won’t pay a thousand for Evotex (VINYL).

The lack of a High Country or Premier is certainly strange, but such a model might end up joining the lineup at some point in the future.

As for Evotex, it’s actually quite nice in the Equinox. Had I not known it was leatherette, I would have never known.

Alex is spot on. The Evotex is the same thing as Toyota’s Softex and many other brands simulated leather and far superior until you get in the higher end leathers. The wifes old Rav4 had it and was much softer than entry level leather seats you find at most price points under 100k. It was cooler in the summer so less sticking to the seats, didn’t get as cold in the winter, durable as all heck and still looked new when sold with minimal maintenance. Shoot, can even take a magic eraser to them to clean up any pen marks. Plus, they breath better, it isn’t a vinyl seat like you remember, it is 1,000 times different and better. I will gladly take a simulated leather over real leather in a vehicle under $100k. On top of all that, it is better for the environment too.

I too would like to see a Premier trim level priced around what the Active is without the knobby simulated off road tires and blackout everywhere. A sliver of chrome on the exterior door handles, some nicer machine faced two-tone wheels and a two tone tan and brown interior would be very nice to see

/\ This. The off-road appearance of black plastic trim is A, old and dated and looks worse years down the road, and B, is ridiculous for an on road-oriented vehicle. Even Lexus has black plastic trim around some of their road CUV’s. Painted people, painted looks a whole lot nicer and appropriate for a family CUV than black plastic. Hope to see a Premier or at least High Country offered later. Something with a little splash of chrome and wheels that aren’t black.

I like the content and look the higher trims offer, but I need something more than 175hp for almost 40K with how I want it. It doesn’t need to be a hot rod, but I don’t want to hear a buzzy 4 cylinder giving it all she has for quick lane passes and merging. That’s not upper 30k performance. 200 minimum, or even better yet, hybrid. I’m sure it’s perfectly capable in most around town situations, but again, for those times when I want some get up and go to get past traffic, 39k has that expectation as a minimum. Non-negotiable.

Chevy has been hitting almost home runs with its line up but there’s something always glaring that really keeps them from having a stellar product. The Trax lacks AWD (I’d even take AWD with a 1.2L if they’re worried about it taking TB 1.3T sales), and the Equniox has almost the same premium featureset as the Envision, for a few thousand less, but again, for the price, this should have something more competitive in higher trims. I’d be an idiot to buy this over a CX 30 2.5T, or a Honda CRV Sport Touring Hybrid.

Get it together GM, stop forcing performance to EV models and bring back your bread and butter performance options on higher trim models

Why is there no remote garage door opener on the 25 equinox. The cars in dealer lots show a $50 delete on window sticker.
