The optional package enabling the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV to provide power to a house from its battery, the Bidirectional 3 kW power capable and 19.2 kW charging capable package (RPO code ZL5), is under constraint, GM Authority has learned from sources familiar with the matter.
This means that the Vehicle to Load or V2L charging capability it provides to the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV, as well as the 19.2 kW AC charging module (RPO code K2O), are unavailable to order for the time being.
The Bidirectional charging package and 19.2 kW AC charging module are new options available for the 2025 Chevy Equinox EV. Notably, all Equinox EVs get an 11.5 kW AC charger module as standard.
The vehicle to load Bidirectional package is normally optional on the RS trim level only, and requires choosing the following content as prerequisites beforehand (RPO codes in parenthesis):
- All-wheel drive (XRD)
- Active Safety Package 3 (AS3)
- Dual panel panoramic sunroof (CAJ)
- Convenience Package II (6K5)
Among other changes, the previously standard dual-level charge cord (RPO code PSC) feature is now optional on Chevrolet‘s lineup of 2025 EVs. The 2025 Chevy Equinox EV is also dropping a single paint color, Red Hot (color code G7C), from the available palette. Meanwhile, another color, Habanero Orange (color code GAG), is being added as an indirect replacement, though it is offered only on the RS trim level.
The Bow Tie has also updated the 2025 Equinox EV trim level lineup, eliminating the 3LT and 3RS to simplify the choice between LT and RS. Base price is confirmed as starting at $34,995 for the LT trim, which includes a $1,395 destination freight charge. The RS starts at $44,795, while the crossover will qualify for a Clean Vehicle Federal Tax Credit of up to $7,500.
Motivation is supplied to the 2025 Equinox EV by GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technology. The 2025 model year will offer more horsepower and torque, with the FWD variant developing 220 horsepower and 243 pound-feet of torque and the AWD configuration rated at 300 horsepower and 348 pound-feet of torque.
Under the body panels, the GM BEV3 platform provides structure. Production kicked off in August at the GM Ramos Arizpe plant in Mexico.

Does this mean that 2025 Equinox EV LT orders are open now? Dealer I contacted this week said they were not taking orders yet.
GM is probably still dumping their 2024’s on dealers that are in the pipeline and if your dealer didn’t take all the allocations they had, they probably won’t be able to order a 2025 until the well runs dry with 2024’s. The easiest thing to do (without having to call them all the time) is to just check their website for 2025 inventory available, but also realize Chevy.com doesn’t even have the 2025 listed as an option yet.
My dealer started putting names on 2025 orders.
Also, he told me to forget about finding a 2024 in my area – they are mostly all gone.
The car can already do V2H, just not V2L. https://gmenergy.gm.com/for-home
