As part of the regional rollout of the refreshed 2025 Chevy Captiva XL in several South American countries, General Motors has just officially launched the crossover in Colombia.
The refreshed 2025 Chevy Captiva XL is now on sale in the domestic market of Colombia, introducing the mid-cycle update of the second-generation Captiva five years after being introduced in the nation. As such, the 2025 Captiva XL hits the Colombian market with design, technology, equipment, safety, and comfort tweaks that keep it up to date with its competition.
“Since its pre-sale in July, the new Chevrolet Captiva XL has had a remarkable reception in the Colombian market, demonstrating the interest of families and people with active lifestyles who are looking for a vehicle that adapts to their diverse needs,” said GM Colombia Product Manager, Carlos González. “This model meets the expectations of those who value space, versatility, capacity, comfort and technology,” he added.
Unlike what happened in other countries of the region such as Perú and Ecuador, the 2025 Chevy Captiva XL was launched in Colombia in a single configuration corresponding to the range-topping Premier trim level. It’s equipped as standard with three rows of seats for up to seven passengers and a set of outstanding features such as the 10.4-inch infotainment system screen, the 360-camera system, automatic climate control and the panoramic sunroof.
Mechanically, the 2025 Chevy Captiva XL maintains the same powertrain configuration as the previous model, consisting of a turbocharged 1.5L I4 engine that develops 148 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque, coupled to a continuously variable automatic transmission in Colombia. As is the case in all markets where it is sold internationally, the 2025 Captiva XL relies on a front-wheel drivetrain.
The refreshed 2025 Chevy Captiva XL is now available for sale at official Chevrolet dealerships in Colombia, where it is positioned as one of the most comprehensively equipped and affordable compact crossovers on the market. The model is imported from China, where it is manufactured by SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW). The 2025 Captiva XL Premier costs 129,990,000 pesos (about $31,150 USD at the current exchange rate).

I have seen up close the previous Chevy Captiva model in my city. It is smaller than the Equinox. This model was built in South Korea.
This model is built by Bajoun as the 530 in China. The older Captiva was the C100 / 105 built in Korea.
Who in their right mind will choose this “milk carton with wheels” over a Chevy Equinox that costs only $3K USD more?
It the trap is the “7 seat configuration” wait to see the size of the 3rd rear seats. Perhaps good enough if you are Snow White.
