Upping the ante compared to the all-electric crossover’s first two model years, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq gets a boost to its horsepower rating alongside several other changes and updates as GM continues to fine-tune the model and its performance.
Both the single-motor rear-wheel-drive configuration and the dual-motor all-wheel-drive 2025 Cadillac Lyriq see their power ratings climb by a double-digit number of horses, according to the latest information.
The GM-rated output of the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq gains either 15 or 25 horsepower depending on the specific setup, GM Authority has learned. The Lyriq RWD’s single motor is now rated at a GM-estimated 365 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, compared to 340 horsepower for the 2024 model year.
Meanwhile, the output of the dual-motor system equipped in the 2025 Lyriq’s AWD configuration climbs to 515 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque per estimates from The General. Notably, the torque output of both drivetrains remains the same as it was in 2024.
Changes rolled out with the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq include retirement of the entry-level Tech trim for the model year, leaving the 2025 trim level lineup consisting of the Luxury 1, Sport 1, Luxury 2, Sport 2, Luxury 3 and Sport 3 variants. Additionally, the crossover will get the Blue Accent, LPO (RPO code PDL), Bronze Accent, LPO (RPO code PDJ), and Red Accent, LPO (RPO code PDK) packages offered on other Cadillac nameplates. Availability of exterior paints is also changed up for 2025.
Pricing for the 2025 Lyriq, as uncovered by GM Authority, starts at a base MSRP of $59,990 for the Luxury 1 with RWD and rises to $72,390 for the Sport 3 with AWD. Notably, prices have dropped for all trim levels compared to the 2024 model year, by anywhere from $2,000 to $2,700. These price drops are thanks in part to the elimination of the Tech trim and also to the 2025 model’s 24 percent reduction in parts relative to the 2024 vehicle.
Under the sheet metal, the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq continues to be underpinned the GM BEV3 platform, while GM Ultium battery and GM Ultium Drive motor technologies supply motivation. Production of the upcoming 2025 model year is currently scheduled to kick off on September 9th, 2024 at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee.
