2025 Cadillac Lyriq Ambient Lighting Adds 100 New Colors

The Cadillac Lyriq launched for the 2023 model year as the luxury marque’s very first all-electric production vehicle, offering up the latest GM EV propulsion technology, plus a host of high-end features. To this latter point, the all-electric crossover packs in plenty of comfort and customization, and now, that customizability has grown even further with the introduction of the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq.

As it turns out, the 2025 Lyriq now offers well over 100 colors for its ambient lighting.

Previously, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq offered the choice between 26 different ambient lighting colors, with the exception of the 2024-model-year Tech trim. Now, with the launch of the 2025 model year, the Lyriq’s dual-zone interior ambient lighting feature (RPO code C70) includes a palette of 126 different colors to choose from.

The dual-zone interior ambient lighting feature is included as standard on all 2025 Cadillac Lyriq trim levels.

Notably, the refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5, refreshed 2025 Cadillac Escalade, all-new 2025 Cadillac Escalade IQ, and all-new 2025 Cadillac Optiq also include 126-color interior ambient lighting (only Luxury 2 and Sport 2 trims for the Optiq).

The 2025 Cadillac Lyriq is also notable for its increased horsepower ratings, which are now 15 to 25 ponies higher then ratings for the preceding model year, coming in at 365 horsepower for the single-motor RWD configuration, and 515 horsepower for the AWD configuration. Torque ratings remain unchanged compared to 2024, rated at 325 pound-feet and 450 pound-feet, respectively.

Other changes include the deletion of the entry-level Tech trim, leaving the Lyriq Luxury 1 RWD as the new entry-level model. Pricing now starts at $59,990. The most expensive trim is the Sport 3 AWD variant, which carries a price tag of $72,390.

All Cadillac Lyriq models ride on the GM BEV3 platform, with a set of GM Ultium batteries and GM Ultium Drive motors on hand for motivation. Production takes place at the GM Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. Finally, it should be noted that the 2025 Cadillac Lyriq uses 24 percent fewer parts than an equivalent 2024-model-year vehicle.

Ah yes, more ridiculous tech that no one asked for but the kindergarten designers just couldn’t resist.

I’d happily take it in any of my cars.

Seems trivial to just let the user specify an RGB value and allow for 256 levels(8 bits) per color for 256**3 colors, a very big number.

Could you work on better functionality for software updates so Lyriqs aren’t stuck in the shop for a week or longer. More colours seem unnecessary in view of all other issues!

And how about getting the surround video recording and RFD card door lock/unlock that ALREADY have the hardware and need the software.

And how about releasing the long announced , but never delivered, Velocity software add-on?

Or modifying the existing software to use the same icon in the same screen position for all of the sections of the infotainment screens. Or, for 2025, a hard button to unlock the glove box, or any of a dozen Lyriq owner requests???

GM has the opportunity to fine tune the Lyriq to be a great car, but instead they spend engineering time to give us more interior accent colors? Who the hell is making these stupid decisions?

Steve V – good list…. I’d only add the Obtuse touch screen which to my fingers doesn’t respond as it does in any other GM product.

I think the answer to your last question is that the car is a good value at its price and therefore has no real competition – other than the Honda PROLOGUE or the slightly higher price ACURA (also made in the USA), which also have their own issues….

Nothing from FORD, or TOYOTA, etc, so there is nothing to light a fire under GM to change some of the defects.

I have found that if your fingernails are just a bit long so the flesh of the tip of your finger doesn’t touch the screen, the screen does not recognize the press.

The Lyriq infotainment screen is far worse in this regard than any cellphone or laptop touch screen I have ever used.

Doesn’t recognize my flesh either, but thanks for trying.

How about incorporating a button on the driver side that would lock all the doors instead of having to push the button on the large key fob.

The 19 speaker AKG sound system needs to be returned. For a vehicle of this caliber it is lacking behind the BMW IX, and the Audi E Tron.
