The refreshed 2025 Cadillac CT5 started arriving at dealers back in June. But way before that, our Executive Editor, Alex Luft, provided us a first-hand look at the updated CT5 from the floor of the 2023 North American International Auto Show, which you can see in the video below.
All of the exterior updates to the CT5 are up front, but they are stunning and move the entire look of this model forward, starting with the new LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) that form an uninterrupted line from the front quarter panel to the bottom of the front fascia. These new DRLs, which replace the interrupted units in pre-refresh models, feature Mondrian highlights on their outer edges, adding a nice detail to the very stylish design.
Inside of the new DRLs is the headlamp cluster, divided into two lenses: one for the regular beams and the other for the high beam. The turn signal / hazard light runs in a thin horizontal line near the top edge of the lens above cluster, in line with the hood. A cornering lamp is placed right under the vertical DRL; it activates when the steering wheel is turned to illuminate the curve.
The front fascia is not to be outdone by the headlamps, as it features a bold new look as well. On this Premium Luxury model, a new grille pattern is surrounded by chrome trim. The lower fascia is similarly all new, and features horizontal slats set within a lip that juts out ever so slightly. As we mentioned, the sides and rear of the 2025 Cadillac CT5 are the same as the 2020 thru 2024 model years.
However, the updates for the 2025 Cadillac CT5 are not limited to the exterior. As Luft points out in the video, the 33-inch curved screen, which encompasses the digital instrument panel (aka the gauge cluster) and center infotainment screen has made its way from the Cadillac Lyriq to the CT5. The impressive display boasts a 9K resolution and is highly customizable. Everything below the screen is the same as prior to the refresh, with the exception of the slightly revised HVAC panel.
Luft also points out the illuminated Cadillac crest placed on the back side of the screen, facing toward the windshield. Like the Mondrian accents within the headlights, this crest is another nice touch, as it’s illuminated and therefore visible from the outside of the vehicle, aligning perfectly with the center spine and the Cadillac crest on the grille.
As a reminder, the 2025 CT5 rearranges the trim level structure, removing the base Luxury trim, leaving the “regular” CT5 with Premium Luxury and Sport. From there, the trim level structure extends to the high-performance CT5-V and ultra-high-performance CT5-V Blackwing. All powertrain choices carry over from prior model years.

I really wish GM/Cadillac still sold the CT6 in the United States.
GM has to try harder to sell vehicles, rather than pulling them from the market and allowing competitors to fill the space. Look at the example of the Chevy Volt. It was a successful hybrid. Dopey management pulled it in favor of EVs, only to see hybrids selling like hotcakes now. Mary Barra needs a good kick in the rump.
I agree that there is a rush to build what they discontinued. Everyone loved their Volt; GM had a car line and name that took a lot of time and money to build, and they just let it drive away.
Yes, C1, GM needs a healthy dose of common sense.
