What Do You Want To Know About The 2025 Chevy Equinox?

The 2025 Chevy Equinox got its big debut earlier this year, showing off the crossover’s latest fourth generation, complete with a long list of updates and changes. Among the changes is all-new styling, both inside and out, as well as the rugged new Activ trim level, designed for outdoorsy activities. Now, GM Authority is set to climb behind the wheel of the all-new crossover, leading us to ask – what do you want to know about the 2025 Chevy Equinox?

One of the most noticeable changes is the all-new styling. The 2025 Equinox takes inspiration from Chevy’s truck lineup, bringing a bolder and more muscular look to play. The crossover has also grown in size, with a 2.3-inch increase in overall width. Customers can choose wheel designs up to 20 inches in size, while the lighting is all-LED.

Inside, the Equinox now features an 11.2-inch diagonal infotainment screen mounted horizontally on the dash, paired with an 11-inch diagonal driver information center behind the steering wheel. Standard features include a six-speaker audio system and Chevy Safety Assist, the latter of which includes a suite of safety features, such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Forward Collision Alert, and Lane Keep Assist with Lane Departure Warning.

Under the hood, the 2025 Equinox is powered by the turbocharged 1.5L I4 LSD gasoline engine. This power plant engine delivers 175 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque in front-wheel-drive configurations, while all-wheel-drive configurations get a torque bump to 203 pound-feet. FWD models match the four-cylinder with a CVT, while AWD models use GM’s eight-speed automatic transmission. The GM D2 platform provides the underpinnings, while production takes place at the GM San Luis Potosi plant in Mexico.

A new addition to the lineup is the Activ trim, designed for outdoor enthusiasts. The Activ trim brings unique styling cues like a distinct fascia, all-terrain tires, two-tone body finishes, and 17-inch wheels.

  5. 1.5t w/ CVT is a no-go for me. I need to occasionally tow 2,000lbs. I don’t want a bigger vehicle to do so… RAV4 for me or forester for me….

  6. Bring the 2.0 T back and I’ll buy it in a heartbeat!

  7. Santorini Blue interior? 20” wheel option? Both don’t seem to be available yet but are mentioned within Chevrolet’s website.

And a stereo upgrade to the Bose 7-speaker system…. Will that ever be available? I’ve seen no mention at all about upgradeable options for the stereo.

  9. Will there be either an LTZ or Premiere model coming?

    1. No. Chevy has adopted a different trim strategy Lt > Activ > RS. I don’t like the concept (mainly because of interior colors), but I guess this will push people the the Terrain, just like The Traverse employing this trim ‘strategy’ will move some people to Acadia.

  12. Question 1) Why did they bother changing over to a CVT transmission when there are literally no benefits? Less torque, a sag in power delivery and 3 less highway MPG is a no sale for me. Question 2) Why is there no LTZ or Premier trim level? The Active is fine as an offering for those that want the rugged off road look but it shouldn’t be a top trim offering. Question 3) Why is there no interior color choices on most trim levels including LT’s with cloth, RS and Active. The only way to get a color choice is to order an LT with the Evotex leather for a whopping 2200 bucks! Question 4) When is an audio system upgrade going to be offered? Question 5) Why did they make the interior all black on the LT and RS? In the past the headliner and side pillars were usually a lighter grey and helped to break up the interior a bit. This is a step in the wrong direction. Question 6) Why did they bother putting a blank out for the upper sun glasses holder on the LT? How much could it possibly cost ot just make a holder std in every trim like the previous model did? Question 7) Why do the rear seats still not recline as they do in most competitors?
